Hmmm, I think overall I was a bit underwhelmed by this book, perhaps it had just been hyped too much on Bookstagram. I didn’t really feel a connection to any of the characters - and maybe it’s just because I’m not a teen - I didn’t love reading their inner thoughts ...it seemed to take pages and pages to say the same things over and over. And now that I’ve finished it, I feel like the pacing of the whole thing was a bit off.

For Amie Kaufman, this was so-so. Her other books are better. I’m in the fence about whether I’ll pick up the sequel when it comes out. It’s only 2 1/2 stars, really.
Can’t wait for Obsidio, though.

When Mia lands on Gaia, her only thoughts are what can she scavenge from this Alien planet in order to give her and her sister a new life, she has no regard to the welcoming message sent to Earth from the alien race the Undying and it's implications. Jules Addison on the other hand, has come solely to figure out the truth hidden in the layers of the Undying broadcast, secretly warning of destruction.

They make an unlikely pair when they team up, Chicago scavenger meets Oxford water polo player but ultimately it's both of their skills which get them past the tests and traps laid in the Undying temples to get to the truth of what is waiting for humankind.

It's a fun romp to read, Indiana Jones in space with young adults essentially.

SpoilerSurely it wasn't really a shock to anyone that the Undying were actually humans? My guess is the ship that supposedly vanished did some time travel chicanery to come back to the past to steal back Earth. Watch this space.

Such a fun Sci-Fi, it was like Indiana Jones meets Dr Who.

Amie and Meagan have really kicked things up a notch since the last series they wrote together. I was really impressed! I felt like their styles blended together much more seamlessly than in the past, the plot was solid and the pacing even. Their characters also felt much more genuine and balanced this time. It was great! I love our MC's Jules and Mia. They're really smart and have a nice chemistry between them. I wasn't annoyed by anyone in this book! YAY! That never happens! The world building and character development is pretty solid. I don't really have anything to praise or complain about there. While our plot doesn't appear to be very unique at first there are some fun twists to be surprised by. Especially the ending! I wish I could spoil it but I just can't because it'd ruin all the fun! The less you know going into this the more you're going to enjoy it. Can't wait for the next one!

Unearthed was ok. I didn't really find that it had any unique elements. There is Insta love and I saw the so called plot twist at the end coming from a mile away. It wasn't bad but it didn't blow me away.

Love love love love love!

Ausgestorbene Alien-Zivilisation!

The plot was entertaining but repetitive writing and some of the audiobook voice acting made it hard to stick with.

I'm agreeing with everyone else that"Indiana Jones in space" sums it up well.
I found the story to be entertaining but a bit slow in the middle.
But the ending is such a cliffhanger that I really want to know what'll happen!!
