Home is where your people are. That’s what makes the very best kind of family.
I can’t believe I waited to read this book. Such a wonderful story of family, both blood and chosen. It reminds you that no one is perfect but everyone deserves to be loved.
Probably my favorite book of the year so far.

Good for an easy summer beach read...
Didnt fall in love with any of the characters; were a tad flat, and all conflict was based around their passive behavior or extreme insecurities and over dramatic tendencies. But it made for a good mindless read that you can knock out in a day or two.

Man... So many feels and so much emotional drama and upheaval. Glad they all managed to work it out though.

I adore this book. There was such depth to this story. Each character had their own story that lent a whole new level of depth to it. I loved this story and how Eli, Brynn, Deck, and Kinsey each got to tell their part. This isn't just a romance novel, it shows how entwined we all are and we get to see two couples fall in love. Jill Shalvis wrote a story that is impossible to put down. I definitely recommend reading this book.

It can only be a bad thing when you find yourself renting a room from the boy you have had a crush for years and find your other roommate is the same girl you hated from summer camp. When this happens to Brynn the enemies to frenemies relationship she has with Kinsley only becomes more deeper when Kinsley secret is revealed and it would not be a Jill Shalvis novel unless the romance between Eli and Brynn is torn apart because of the hatred. Can everyone find their HEA after the anger subsides? Can the two girls actually become closer than either of them ever realized? This story had it all - great characters, a storyline that I could not put down as well as an ending that put a smile on my face. Once again Jill Shalvis does not disappoint.

Families can suck.
Brynn Turner has two moms and a childhood crush who she is suddenly living with back in Wildstone. The catch is that her childhood nemesis Kinsey Davis also lives in the same house. And Brynn is having issues with this and some secrets that seem to be just below the surface with Kinsey and Eli.
Kinsey will admit she has some issues and having Brynn living in the house is definitely one of them. Kinsey has some serious health issues and without a kidney transplant soon, her health will fail her. There is someone who can donate a kidney that should be a perfect match for her but Kinsey refuses to talk to this person.
The story is very emotional and makes you stop and think about relationships and the families we are born into and the families we create. The characters are well developed like always when written by Ms. Shalvis. But this story didn't seem to catch me like the others in the Wildstone series. Perhaps it is the strange times we are living in while I was reading it. I do plan to go back and re-read this novel again in a few months.
I think the thing to take out of this novel is that not all families are perfect and we have to take the bad with the good. And the families we create are never perfect either.
I did receive a copy of this novel in advance from the author in exchange for an unbiased fair review.

I loved this book! One of the most heartwarming stories ever and really fell in love with the characters. I love the theme of ‘family isn’t about blood, it’s about who you choose’. Easily one of the best written books that flowed so smoothly it was like having a movie play in your head. Loved it

Another great addition to the Wildstone series from Jill Shalvis!!
This book read more as women’s fiction to me than the rest of the series, which isn’t a bad thing, just something readers might want to keep in mind.
I found myself really invested in the relationship between Brynn and Kinsey, even as I struggled to believe how easily they fell into the role of roommates, and then sisters, after having such a tumultuous relationship as kids/teens.
That’s actually probably my biggest issues with this story. Other than the way secrets were revealed to Brynn, one by one, everyone in this story reacted and behaved almost too perfectly.
Eli was, dare I say it, almost too perfect. Even despite his familial backstory, he was a pillar of strength, understanding, patience and kindness.
Brynn’s history with Kinsey gave her a valid reason to want nothing to do with her, yet she handled the surprise of being her roommate and the revelation of them being related with more grace than I could ever imagine. At times I felt like she actually let Eli and Kinsey off too easily.
Yet, somehow, it all worked to make this a story that I couldn’t stop reading and finished with a smile and full heart. That’s the magic of Jill Shalvis’s writing and why she’ll forever be one of my favorite go-to authors.
*I received an ARC from the author for honest review

I am full of warm fuzzies. Jill Shalvis never disappoints. And I've come to love all the Wildstone books and characters. Kind of wish Deck would have ended up with his own book some way or another because mmm, yes.
Also, bless the epilogue.
