<Did you see a Yeerk in there in his head?> I asked Ax shakily.
<No,> Ax said, just as shaken as I was. <No Yeerk.>
<Did that scare the pee out of you, Ax-man, or doesn't that kind of thing bother you Andalites?>
<I am as peeless as you, Tobias, my friend.>

Such a good one. Love the setup for my favorite Chronicles book with the free Hork-Bajir. The Ellimist and his loopholes. It's a good series and I'm loving my reread/first complete read-through.

Best Animorphs book since book 5. In the 20-so years since I read this, I completely forgot what happens and I quietly screamed inside. I stayed up late to finish this off. Tobias has to be one of my favourite characters in terms of his story and perspective.

Just... AHHHH!

I'll say no more except, what a surprise!

I really liked this one! I love Tobias. I especially loved the ending. I won't give it away, but it's really cool. This is definitely one of my favs of the series.

Books I've read and provided detailed reviews over the years but all data is lost after accidental deletion and GD refuse to restore it back.

Adding books back to my library for my own reference and tracking purposes

Poor, sweet Tobias. It's tough to be an Animorph, but while the rest of them are dealing with school this guy's gotta FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE from the scariest raccoon I've ever read.

One of the best in the series, and refreshing after my recent disappointment in revisiting [b:The Andalite Chronicles|363423|The Andalite Chronicles (Animorphs Chronicles, #1)|K.A. Applegate|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1545201775l/363423._SX50_.jpg|2859410]. Here's the introduction of the free Hork-Bajir: Jara Hamee and Ket Halpak, who Tobias is charged with leading to safety by the Ellimist... in exchange for his power to morph returned to him.

I love Jara and Ket so much. I love the Romeo/Juliet undertones of Rachel and Tobias morphing the couple to save them. In hindsight, I appreciate that they gender-swapped their morphs - especially with Tobias as a character resonating so strongly with trans people at the time.

And that ending. Oh! My hearts.
