I'm as feminist as they come, but this just felt like an unnecessary lecture after about halfway through. I didn't care for the jump to the present. There wasn't much plot in the first half but I was still reading in hopes it would get better, but I just don't think it will. 
I wish the characters had been more fleshed out. A good idea, not the best execution.
