4.5 stars - I really enjoyed this book! The atmosphere was so spooky and the mystery kept me guessing
Spoilerand things are still not completely resolved. I loved learning about Amelia's parentage finally. I did guess her parents pretty early but was surprised about some of the aspects
.

I wasn't sure about her moving to a new setting but it was not a problem and I was sucked in right away.

Not many books that are second in a trilogy does as good a job as this. I cannot wait for my third book to arrive. Very addictive reading.

In 2011 I read the first book in The Graveyard Queen Series and I was hooked on Steven's creepy imagery and convincing storyline. This past weekend - needing a break from reading heavy hitters - I was at my local library and stumbled upon the next two books in the series and spent the rest of the weekend devouring Steven's lush and intense prose as the Graveyard Queen, Amelia Gray, tries to protect herself from the ghosts she can see and the ghosts of her past.

In The Kingdom we leave Charleston, SC and head to the Blue ridge foothills of South Carolina where Amelia has been commissioned to restore a neglected family cemetery. For some reason she has been drawn to Asher Falls the creepy little town near the cemetery where at night the ghosties appear in the streets and an evil presence in the mountains controls the area and wants Amelia to stay... forever. This book was downright scary and left chills.

Wow ... Ashers Falls is one hell of a town! I love this book as much as the first book, maybe a bit more because the plot is crazingly amazing. But the absence of Devlin is kinda disapointing... Oh the hot and brooding police officer ~

Tho I must admit, there's something about Amelia that starts to irritates me... She's starting to lose her charmes, her coolness, and all that make her different from others female characters... I hope she will regain her senses in the next book.

Ps : I love Angus, the noble and courageous dog!!!

Omg, omg people! This book was so good. Yes I liked book 1 and it was so hard to put down but this one was even better! I started it and was unable to put it down, I realized that I had missed lunch and tore myself away for 5 minutes. I was utterly lost in this world and did not stop until I reached the end. The only thing stopping me from reading the next one at once is that I need to breathe.

The eerie feeling echoed through out the whole book. A creepy town, freaky things in the woods and questions needed to be answered. And the answers were just as creepy as the questions. What an atmosphere she builds!

I could keep on gushing. I even felt the urge to give it a 5. I know right, from me?! Crazy. I wont though even if it deserves it. I reserve those for books I will re-read over and over again. This one, well the eeriness is there, but now I know. So leave it at 4,5. Best book so far this year. It left me empty now. I have only one book left in the series and I will sad. Especially if it's not equally good.

I recommend it. I love when a story pulls me in and refuses to let me go. I could not have torn myself even if I had wanted to.
