I'm really enjoying this series. It is totally light but I really enjoy the characters.

Another installment in the Adventures of Isabel Spellmen. Like the first book, the mystery in this isn't really the main point. It's how Izzy and her family communicate - or don't.

This book left a big question out there... do Isabel and Henry get together??? Must read on for that answer!

This was fun, but there was quite a lot going on. I think the chaos is just part and parcel with this family, but there are definitely a couple of side plots that could have been cut without really impacting the novel. Also, I liked that we saw more of that "relentless PI" archetype this time.

The Curse of the Spellmans is the second book in the Spellmans Series. This is the perfect pick me up and had me actually laughing out loud. In Curse of the Spellmans, Izzy is keeping surveillance on a mysterious new neighbor, attempting to keep her sister, Rae, from bothering Detective Stone after Rae ran him over with a car, and find a new apartment.

I love this dysfunctional family so much. I will say, I liked the first book more. This one was still great, there was just a bit too much going on.

Cute sequel to a cute first book. Lite but likable.

This is a very good series, especially to listen to. Christina Moore is the perfect narrator for each of the voices, each and every dysfunctional character.
Izzy is on a mission to find out what exactly her new neighbor is up to. She just knows in her gut that he is evil. She continues to surveill him even though each time out leads to her arrest one way or another. She's about to lose her license to be a PI if she doesn't stop.
Izzy is engaged to her cop friend, much to both their dismay. It's to help out a family member.
There's so much more going on, the story is told in backwards and forward time that took me some time to get used to, but it made sense as Izzy tells her tale like a normal person would...or at least how I would. You start to tell the story of something that happened and you remember that you should maybe start a little farther back to make the listener understand what led up to the current tale. You don't exactly start over, but you go back a little bit in time to complete the tale.
The story made me laugh and enjoy my time with this crazy family.
Five dysfunctional is fun beans....

I whipped through this one. These are great. Love the dialogue. The main character was a little bit too neurotic in this one, but seems like that will resolve somewhat! Great series...can't wait to go get the next one!

Very nearly as funny as the first Spellman book. Laughed out loud several times.

4 1/2 stars. Pages and pages of fun. Even more enjoyable than the first.
