4 1/2 stars. Pages and pages of fun. Even more enjoyable than the first.

When I first read this, the sequel to one of my favorite books, I was surprised at how it wasn't hitting the right spot for me. Now after a second reading, I think it's clear I just had the wrong expectations. Certainly, I'd have been plenty happy if we'd have just gotten more of the same, but now that I'm prepared for them, the not insignificant character changes between books can be appreciated.

I liked the writing style, but I dislike the characters except for Henry. Their whimsical, irresponsible, entitled attitude doesn't hide their criminal behavior.

The ending was completely and utterly predictable but I loved the relationships so much. I've be laughing out loud on my 5 hour train feeling sorry for everyone around me, even as I just smile creepily... for 5 consecutive hours.

Very funny follow-up to the Spellman Files. Izzy has been arrested four times and is consulting with her aged attorney Morty on her case, which prompts her to relate recent events in the Spellman family. If you want something lighthearted and funny, check out the Spellman family.
