This was a fun start. Lots of crazy characters and situations. I like the mashup between sci-fi and fantasy.

I'm not sure if I like the two main characters yet. They seem a little...they are very much like their Shakespearean counterparts—very in love even though they know nothing about each other, and irrationally impulsive.

I've heard a lot of good things about Saga, but I have been hesitant to dive in because most people's description of it as a "Star Wars-esque Family Saga Space Opera" was not compelling for me (since I am not a Star Wars fan)

BUT after reading the first page, I just couldn't stop.

The story-telling definitely sucked me in. We start in the middle of the action - no establishing prologue on world building, no character intros - the readers are as shocked as the characters. And seeing as we're following an obviously star-crossed lovers who just gave birth, it really makes one empathize a lot more. While the premise of the story is not something entirely new, the characters are written so well that I want to KNOW what happens to them and what brought them to this situation.

I also love how the narration was written almost poetically, how it compliments the dialogue and the setting while it's telling a different story altogether.

I wajt to say that it is so well-written that if we take out the scifi-fantasy elements of it, it will still be very intriguing. That is NOT the case because how the world is imagined -its quirks and visual appeal - adds a lot more interest to the story.

Good start to a series. I can't wait to binge it.

AWESOME AF. Review will be up soon!

I enjoyed the first volume of Saga.

The artwork was great. The story was just fine. I am interested enough to keep reading the other volumes and seeing how the story progresses.

PS. The stalk freaked me the fudge out and she is the thing that nightmares are made of.

3/5 stars

A cool world that uses weird characters to tell a maybe love-story.

I enjoyed this first volume and will
Continue reading. Didn’t love some of the fat phobic and ableist language choices.

This was unlike anything I've ever read. I haven't read many graphic novel or comics, and also not any stories in space. But I can say this book disturbed me, awed me, and intrigued me. It was super interesting and the art was beautiful and detailed. I read it in one sitting last night and I couldn't decide how I felt about it. I was so wrapped up in the story and how creepy and crazy and beautiful it all was that I was just like wow and what the heck?, so basically I recommend this graphic novel/comic to mature adults who like fantasy. It was really something else!
