Wow, where do I even start?? It’s been a bit since I’ve visited the Dune series, but was able to be recaptured by the incredible world-building and the in-depth study of the religious and political storylines within. Especially when met with accountability and rebellion.
I won’t give too much away since it’s a book worth experiencing, but the book follows Paul Atreides’ and his mother’s pre-born children and their quest for humanity. Are they good or evil since they have memories of their past lives and can see into the future? Who are they without their ancestors’ remnants?
I loved seeing the different perspectives between their will, some fighting possession while one giving into it. I was especially surprised how Leto II ended up and how his future was formed to the Atreides empire.

Plots within plots within plots... Don't think I had a clue what was actually going for the entire book
Would liked to have read more of Ghanima and Jessica's stories. Felt like all the other characters took a backseat to Leto in the latter half of the book.
Ties up the trilogy nicely and leaves me with absolutely no desire to read on. I'm sure the continued adventures of worm boy are great, but I'm happier not knowing

I patiently wait for the day when I feel that I have lived enough life to better understand what I have just experienced. I wonder if there is anything else quite like this book out there, somewhere.

A lot is happening on first pages, with a really decent pace that reminds the original book.
Yet, after a hundred pages feels like trying to force you to empathize or even add to your favorites list certain characters by guiding the story in their favor to accomplish that. Including poor justifications for it and repetitive chapters with low or none content at all
Feels like could’ve been way shorter tbh, which doesn’t turn it into a terrible story. But feels like an elastic or a gum that you don’t wanna let go for the glory it had back then. Ironic for the topic of this series, falling as Paul Muad’Dib

Fun read for sure, don’t get me wrong. Just not something I would give a full 5 stars to due to how hard it can be read/understand at times due to writing style. I have enjoyed the story and I’m excited to see where it goes.
