The author keep shifting which character is the central figure. Since I like to commit to one POV, it makes it harder. But the series continues exciting and tense as those 3rd children have to interact at more complex levels wtih the world that has rejected them.

Once again, a fun read, but nothing special. The plot of this one was interesting, I certainly want to know what's going to happen.
And I really liked Smits... He was super sweet.

Yeah, I literally have nothing left to say about this book.

Would recommend. The ending tugged at my heart and I feel like we really start to see the main character develop into himself. The best in the series this far.

This book picks up where book two ended. I would recommend the younger audience to skip book three entirely and just pick up here. A great read.

This book was as far as I got when I was a child. I'm not sure if I stopped this series because I couldn't find the remaining three or if they just weren't published yet and I lost interest. Either way, I very much enjoyed this installment once again and I'm eager to continue this series to the end. There were many twists and turns that I enjoyed. Just when I thought I had this figured out, another plot was thrown my way. For a middle grade book, Haddix is very good with the plot twists. She does so in a way that isn't confusing for young readers.

This book received three stars from me simply because the characters felt a bit flat. This novel was much better paced that previous ones though. I enjoyed the Luke/Lee and Smits relationship. I'm curious to see how the brothers will continue. The ending to this novel was excellent. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to start Among the Brave.

Writing is mediocre but I'm determined to finish the series to find out what happens.

Great continuation of the series. Smits coming into the story definitely added a twist. The story keeps you guessing.

Depressing but gotta love Luke and his perspective.
I'm hating on dystopian.
