I'm being a little nice, I guess I could have given it 1 1/2 stars, but I felt a little bad... It wasn't completely awful, sort of the expected romance-plot, though the writing towards the end sort of degraded. Another issue, I read this to fulfill the books set in my hometown, but most of the location references did not exist at all (I could only confirm one true location, but it was an entire neighborhood...). Also, the book had been printed a few days before I received it, so some of the pages were lop-sided and the kerning was distracting (uneven and obnoxious). It was really off-setting that some pages were left with 3 words printed on it or there would only be a question mark on one line. (I know these were small things, but they just didn't help the cause.)
A sweet short romance about Ellen who thinks that all you need in romance is compatibility. Oh boy, is she going to have a turn for something else when she meets sexy and sweet Henry at the vet's place (he saves her friend's dog who was choking on some hair (the beast eats everything)). So begins a couple of dog obedience classes which will bring them together. Though he doesn't seem interested at times, so Ellen focuses on other online dates.. but her mind keeps (so adorable) wandering to Henry. I was just rooting for her and Henry to get together, and the ending made me very happy and yes, I squeed in happiness. Finally! Yes, finally, because at times it took a bit too long and I was a bit tired of how slow things went. But I am still happy I read this book. It was short and fluffy.
Ellen is 30 years old and is desperately looking for love. On her mothers advice she joined an online dating serving and has now narrowed her choices down to 2 men with whom she was planning to set up in-person dates.
To be honest at the end of chapter one I thought that the main character, Ellen, would be a ditsy dumb blonde who couldn't do anything right. Afterall, she had almost killed her best friends dog.
Instead she met the man of her dreams at the vets where she took the dog after it was choking on a hairball.
This is a novella, but even in 7 chapters Ellen learns how to take a chance on love and to stop following other peoples rules or preconceived ideas.
I was more than satisfied with the ending of this book.

I seriously loved this book đ. It was such a sweet story. Ellen believes a relationship should be high in compatibility, so she joins a online dating site. When her friend's dog đ¶ eats her pocketbook contents and starts acting like it is going to die, she rushes him to the vet. That is when she meets the most gorgeous man she has ever seen. Henry is friendly and definitely not a vet. He saves the dogs life and she decides to sign the dog up for obedience classes to spend more time with Henry. Will her online dating goals get in her way of a relationship with Henry?
This book was a quick read. The characters are funny and engaging. I was hooked from the beginning. It is such a sweet and romantic story. A modern day fairy tale of falling in love.
This is the first book in the series. I am excited to continue on the journey in book two. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a little sweet romance.

I may be part of a minority but, I just could not get into this book. I mean it was okay but, it was not great or anything that I would want to continue in the series. I will read Book 2 because I have it on my Kindle but this one just did not draw me in. I am not sure that this review is based on the author because I think she is really good at telling a story yet I did not like the story. I think that I just did not fall in love with Ellen I thought she was unreal and just plain annoying as hell. This is just my opinion and in no way shape or form should make you not want to read the book many others liked it I just did not!
This is a cute fairy tale disguised as a contemporary novella. Ellen, recently turned 30, is ready to marry and have two children. Her mother, now on her third marriage, has drilled into Ellen the mantra that compatibility is the key to a successful relationship. To that end, Ellen has joined an online dating service to screen out anyone who might prefer paragliding over walks on the beach, and to include only honest, successful men ready for marriage.
As the story opens, Ellen has narrowed her choices down to two matches. She is prepared to meet them face to face and begin her lifetime of shared goals and political views. But wait! First she has to dog-sit for her best friend, which leads to an evening at the vet, which leads to dog-training school and Henry. Henry is an unscreened, unknown, dog-rescuing, gray-eyed hottie in sweatpants. What should Ellen do?
Ellen forces herself to meet the two appropriate men, all the while daydreaming about Henry. Because he has nice eyes and a nice dog. Whatâs not to love? Over three nights of dog training she dreams, she doubts, she focuses, she despairs. In the end, everything works out, yay!
This is a short romance, I read it in about an hour. It introduces other characters who have their own full-length novels in the series. Based upon the writing style, the other books should be light, breezy, and fun. This story was pretty much building up to a kiss at the finale, so the heat factor was almost zero. I wonder how steamy the other books are? I probably wonât read them because I felt this story was too fluffy, too âwaiting for Prince Charmingâ. But I bet my fourteen-year-old self would have fallen for it completely. Grade: B

This is a great fun quick sweet romance. I really like the characters and hope to see more of them through the series.
Ellen is a planner, which is so not me! I loved reading someone who is so much my opposite and seeing her fall for a guy who would totally do it for me as well! I will say be both have the same sense of humor and sass!
Henry is so sweet and he made me giggle often. I am a sucker for playful banter!
The whole book is from Ellen's POV, which limits how the reader seeing events. You only have her perspective to work from. Fortunately there are plenty of cues that you can pick up on to give you the bigger picture.
It is all sweet, a light flirtation but it never gets to the bedroom stage.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Martha Lee, who does a great job. She has a soothing mature tone to her read but is still able to bring out the lightness in the banter. I really liked her voices and how distinct she keeps them. I really hope she stays with the whole series because she was a delight to listen to from beginning to end.
I am excite to have found this series. I love a tasty little treat every now and again!! Bonus these books are on Whispersync for Voice. If you snag the ebook the audio is only $1.99! Score!
