On death and family herritage

I enjoy reading non-white non-male authors for these people bring a different perspective and value which extends our own understanding of the world, enrich our knowledge of diverse cultures, and broaden our own perspective. This particular story goes for long without a hint of mystery or suopernatural, but once it brings it in, it ties it in well with the family and cultural heritage of our main character. I appreciate the writing style and the dramatic impact of the introduction of the fantasy element here.

There's nothing I could point out that I disliked.

I recommend this read to those who would enjoy an experience of a hint of black tradition and culture tied in with the supernatural with a clever ethical message.

I give this 5/5 stars as this was a story that kept my attention from beginning to end with beautiful narration.

This was an interesting read & an interesting take on the Grim Reaper. However, I felt the ending kind of let me down. It was anticlimactic and she didn’t really win or cheat death. The setting of the book I really liked. I love books based on Savannah & the culture there around the dead and ghosts/spirits. It was definitely a better read than the first two in this Amazon series.

If you’re looking for a historic gothic vibe with a special twist revolving around the grim reaper then this short short might whet your appetite.

However, for me I needed more than what the abrupt ending gave me.
