I was hesitant to give my honest two star review, because I don’t want to deter anyone from giving it a chance. I am an advocate for reading poetry! I just personally did not enjoy this. It didn’t move me emotionally, and I didn’t find the language or meter of the poems to be alluring. Atwood is a legend and a mastermind when it comes to fiction. I think this speaks to why she is revered for her fiction and not here poetry. By all means give it a try, maybe you’ll love it. It just wasn’t for me. For comparison, contemporary poets I like are Ada Límon and Bianca Stone.

Honestly, this book took a lot of time for me to finish. I will assume that because the level of the writing was a bit difficult for me (Eng is not my mother tongue) so I felt detached a lot while reading and listening to it. Normally I don't find this many words in one text that I don't know so I looked at each word to get the full message of the poem.
The poetry itself made me just respect Margaret Atwood more as a writer. She definitely had lived enough to be able to spell poetry like this, the meaning behind each one of them is deep. Loved them that's why it's 3, for now, I will reread them again and hopefully will enjoy them more.
recommended!

Reading these words is a kind of self-torturing, there’s a huge difference between POETRY and PROSE, how can you call it poetry without verses or rhymes ! .. plus the metaphors and stories were too naïve.
Tbh I will never call this shit "prose" too.
