Where do I start? From the shitty writing? Or the plot that makes no sense? Or the weird, full of swear, useless scenes and repeated dialogs?
This has a lot - and I mean A LOT - of potential that weren't met. I hated it. FULL STOP.

What an enthralling first installment! I loved every minute of this. Dorian and Sloane are a true enemies to lovers and their hate for each other feels much stronger and more acerbic than I’m used to.

In fact the whole character dynamic felt darker overall to me than much more graphic Dark Romance books I’ve read. Very tense and atmospheric.

Sloane could get a little male gazey, but that was generally in Dorian’s pov, so that tracks. Also I have Suspicions about Wilf that I was hoping would get opened up in this book. It’s been subtle but I definitely see it and I have Theories, damn it!

Regardless it was a fantastic start to what promises to be a great series. Looking forward to the next one!

Dirty Wicked Prince is the first book in the Court Legacy series. This book is told from dual points of view by Noa Sloane and Dorian Prinze.

After Sloane and her brother's last remaining parent passes, the new guardian they have never met moves them to a new place. Sloane isn't sure what to make of it because they have always had a harder life, and she will do whatever she has to while protecting herself and her brother.

When she shows up at a new school she has a run-in with the popular kids, and they are not happy to see her. They decide to make her life hard because she keeps showing up at the wrong time. When Sloane helps one of their sisters, she is invited to be with them a little more, and feelings between her and Dorian start to develop.

So many twists and turns in this book happen. Things with the principal. We find out a secret from Dorian's uncle who has passed. What happens when Dorian gets the principal to confess to what happened a night long ago. What happens when Sloane's guardian shows back up.

There were so many things in this book that I wasn't expecting, and it kept me on my toes. I really enjoyed the audio version as well. The narrators really brought these two characters to life!

Interesting plot, but the author’s use of language is immature and confusing. It could use some editing and variation in language. For example, her frequent use of the word cuff. Some variation of I/he/she cuffed my/his/her arms is used many times. And I don’t understand these at all. “A white tee cuffed his mighty arms and strong back”. “She took his arm, cuffing his jacket sleeve.” Does she mean pushed up their shirtsleeves? Grab? Surround? Hug tightly? I can’t suss it out.

Cliffhanger!

It was a really good story, the relationship between the characters was nice an intense and well worth the read. I like the sexual tension between them as well. It’s a good read and while you suspect the cliffhanger at the end it was still a shocking confirmation and well worth the read.
