This book is not great. All of the character names sound like they have been picked by some high school girl who thinks she is ~So EdGy~
The main character is this supposed badass, but she doesn't seem like one. The flow of the writing is horrible, choppy, and honestly just unrealistic. They say fuck and shit but then "he whipped my butt" or something like that?? Childish. "ThEy'Re My BrOs." Stop. No one says it like that in their minds, or really out loud unironically anymore. The one redeeming factor of this book is the plot itself with Dorian's uncle.

Holy shit. This freaking book had me on the edge of my seat in so many cases. My heart was literally racing as I finished the last chapter. I can not believe what happen and I am so excited to read the next book because I am dying to find out what happened. Sloane is so freaking strong, I envy her and I never thought I would say this but I want to give Dorian a massive freaking hug. I am hooked.

Under 500 pages should’ve taken me 2 days to finish this book. But I had to force my through it just to finish. I’ve discovered I don’t like high school enemies to lovers tropes.

I wanted to like it. The inner dialogue was so repetitive that I was able to skim through half the book without missing what happened. Too many words explaining they were brothers. Blah blah blah. I don't know why we needed this history lesson repeated several times throughout the book.
IMO there wasn't enough direct interaction between Dorian and Sloan. There wasn't enough talking. There wasn't enough time together to really feel a deep connection between the two of them.
I also found the writing choppy. I felt like things were being talked about that didn't matter. I'm not sure if I will continue or not. I'm hoping book two will give me the connection I'm craving.

Coming into this book, I figured that Dorian would be like his Dad, Royal. Yes, there are similarities, but if Dorian isn't in a whole league of his own. His chemistry he has with Sloane is off the charts!

This book took me so long to finish because it started too slowly for my liking but once I got past the 25% ish mark I was like hmm okay maybe i'll stick with it & i'm so glad i did.
i usually don't like high school bully romances, and that's why this isnt rated a five star but the way it ended had my mind BLOWN because i didn't expect that AT ALL and now i want to know what the heck is happening.
