This was a pretty mild dark/bully romance in my opinion. I also think it dragged out the story. I don’t care to continue to book 2. It was honestly just okay.
2.5-Very toxic people. High school seniors with traumatic history that leads to a lot of drama, dorian and his crew were too much, Sloane and her brother end up orphaned with a Rich guardian and land in this rich town/school. Enemies to lovers, close friendship. The writing was hard to get through and I wasn’t going to finish it but I did. And a cliff hanger like that, really!!!

This was so bad I couldn't finish it, and I never DNF books. Not only was it littered with errors from grammar to missing words, which is obnoxious in a published book and shows poor care when finishing, but the content was just bad. The main character was unlikeable, in trying to write her as some strong tomboy type the author made her annoying. Instead of a cool girl, the main character reads as a FMC written by a man in the worst way. Not to mention none of the other characters had any redeeming qualities in the first 1/3 of the book, her brother sucked, and if all of the main male characters in the book are arrogant, obnoxious, mean, entitled, and honestly just cringy, it doesn't make me want to see her end up with any of them. This missed the mark of "dark" male lead.

I couldn't put this book down and honestly I cannot wait to get start book two. This book had so many twists and turns and I couldn't predict this ending and I read enough that I can usually predict an ending too. I totally recommend giving it a chance.

So. NOT what I was expecting… themes I should have definitely prepared myself for. Had to turn off the book at one point because it was too intense and not in the fun way. Finally finished it. Cliffhanger is a bastard but I don’t know that I will subject myself to a second go around of this character lot when the following titles. We will have to see.
