The perfect way to start off Autumn! Cozy mysteries are my favourite reads at this time of year and I didn't want to leave Havenwood. Luckily there isn't long before book 2 and I can dive back in to see what Harper is investigating next.
I adore books with a magical setting and books set in bookstores so this story fit perfectly. The writing was fun and the characters even more so.
Embroiled in a mystery to solve in order to receive her inheritance I loved seeing where Harper's story went as the character developed and can't wait for book 2 to see where we go next.
A well written and easily readable mystery for dark nights and cozy reads.
Thank you to Love Book Tours for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first of 4 installments of the Havenwood Paranormal Cozy Mysteries series is the perfect read to kick off the cosy season. π
We dive into the story as Harper arrives in the picturesque Havenwood to take over her late grandmother's cherished bookshop. But, like any great mystery, things are far from simple.
LL Gray has crafted an enchanting tale, blending loveable and complex characters with a magical, quaint town brimming with quirky creatures, a psychic, and even a book club. The story is filled with twists, turns, and clever red herrings that keep you guessing. And then there's Luna, the wise and sassy bookshop rabbitβsheβs bound to steal your heart! π°
To make this a 5-star read, I would have loved to spend even more time in the bookshop itself, surrounded by the magic of the books. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for more of that in the next installment! πβ¨
Iβm already eagerly awaiting the sequel, hoping for more bookish magic, romance, and adventure. If youβre searching for a warm, comforting read to get lost in, treat yourself to a copy of this book. Light some scented candles, snuggle under a cozy blanket with a hot drink, and let this delightful story wrap you in a comforting embrace. This book is a dopamine boost in literary formβhighly recommended!

Perfect little cozy mystery with a magical bookish theme, whatβs not to love?
Harperβs great grandmother has passed away and left her Spellbooks, the bookshop she loved and owned but there is a twist. Will Harper even get to inherit the beloved bookshop fondly remembered from her childhood or will the unknown cousin sweep in and ruin everything?
I thoroughly enjoyed this fun read and loved the magical twist. Itβs a story or friendship, family and a talking rabbit.
Reminded me of Molly Harperβs books (which is a compliment!) Will definitely add more L.L. Gray to my tbr.
Ohh I might have found a new favorite cozy mystery series! I loved everything about this one, to be honest. I read it in one sitting, because I was completely absorbed into the book. A magical town full of all sorts of magical creatures leads to a lot of suspects of who could possibly be behind a crime. The writing was great, with several lines that I loved.

Harperβs great grandma passed away and Harper received a summons to meet with her attorney about the estate. Her Granny Beaβs bookshop was always a magical place for her to visit, and it didnβt just have to do with the magical town that she had lived in. Imagine her surprise when she shows up to find a long lost cousin and a week to convince the attorney that she is the best person to run the bookstore. Oh? And the bookstore was burglarized right before she got to town, so she canβt even go in right away.
Thank you to Love Book Tours for the copy, all thoughts are my own.

This was a hug in a book. This was so good and addictive to read that once I had started it I didn't want to put it down - and yes I stayed up until the early hours of the morning to read it. L.L. Gray has a writing style which grabbed me and kept me turning the pages because I wanted to see what happened with our main character Harper. We follow her as she embarks on a quest to save her grandmothers bookshop and she finds something special along the way. There is a wide range of characters from all of your favourite fairytales and also a love interest .... you will have to read this to find out what happens. I can not wait until the next installment is out as this is a definite win for me.
This is the perfect read for the upcoming cosy season! Perfect for cuddling up with all the blankets and a giant tea or hot chocolate!
It has everything you want in a cosy mystery, a magic bookshop, talking rabbits and a giant cat, and a cast of amazing characters! I really liked Harper, and Thaddeus was the perfect bad guy, though Luna did steal the show a good few times!
The mystery kept you guessing the whole way through with some fab red herrings. I'm looking forward to more of this series!
If you love magic and cosy mystery, then cuddle up and visit Havenwood this autumn. You won't be disappointed!

Harper is a witch with a teeny tiny amount of magic. She can open locks and summon little bits of metal but that's about it. She loved her great gran's bookshop but she hasn't been able to visit much lately and has a lot of regret that she hasn't seen her gran in a long time. But inheriting a bookshop is Harper's dream. There is one slight wrinkle though as the inheritance isn't as straightforward as she thought!
Dead bodies, talking rabbits, cats the size of large dogs, centaurs, a shifter sheriff and a whole host of other magical and supernatural inhabitants of the town are superb backdrops to a great little murder mystery!
Harper is a wonderfully likeable character and she may be a bit on the young and naΓ―ve occasionally but she has a good heart and doesn't want to stoop to her cousin's level to win the bookshop. Thad really was a sleaze! There were enough twists to keep my brain occupied and I love the final plot twist!
A cosy, warm hearted, mystery with a dash of supernatural to keep it interesting!

"The Mystery in the Margins" is a sweet tale of homecoming, magic, and women entrepreneurs -- and a riveting mystery. Until the very end, I wasn't sure who the real culprit was, or whether Harper would get her dream. I couldn't be sure what was going on with Granny Bea or with the Havenwood community -- which heightened the suspense! -- and I loved the whole idea of a magical safe place that also managed to make a living for itself. Havenwood is so unique: it's beautiful and whimsical, excellent with capitalizing on magic stereotypes, firmly professional (the police!), and problematic in the way that all communities tend to be as they face the change and growth of the real world. Although this book concludes this mystery, the characters themselves gave me reason to come back for future books. In summary, definitely recommend.
