I don’t think I’ll be able to forget this book. And to be honest I hope I don’t ever forget it. I want to remember my brothers and sisters in Christ around the world that are persecuted as I write this and those who have died to share the Truth of Jesus.

A series of short stories and true accounts of people throughout history who were willing to be martyred for the cause of Christ.

Humbling, inspiring, and deeply emotional collection of accounts. Not for the faint of heart, but a fair warning of the potential earthly cost of putting your faith ahead of all else.

This is not light reading, nor is it aimed at entertaining, and that ought to be taken into consideration. I read it at a dark time in my life, and while I can't exactly call it uplifting, I didn't see it as depressing either. These are people who had a hope that transcended this short and limited existence. And that, in turn, gave me hope and perspective.

I read this back in middle school and I remember it leaving a mark on me. This was a book of different stories about martyrdom.

This whole thing, every single story is just so inspiring and encouraging. I suggest it to everyone.

Awesome read!!!

Read this with my son and it only took us almost exactly two years. Haha It’s beautiful and heavy and sparked many conversations. I’m in awe what Christians go through in other countries but know that it might not be long before some of things we read are closer to home.

Somewhere between a history book and a devotional. DC Talk showcases the stories of martyrs from throughout Christian history in the past 2,000 years. Very humbling and eye-opening for anyone who thinks they suffer any kind of persecution here in the USA today. ... and on a side note DC Talk needs to get back together already, but that's beside the point.
