Good lord, I had completely forgotten that this was Anne Rice’s foray into grimdark. It was insanely gory. People just get absolutely ripped apart and noshed on. I do love the overall anti-religion theme of the plot as well as the multiple queer love stories. Also way less incest and no sexualizing children this time, thanks Anne.
