Honestly don't get why people hate on this book *this* much, it was pretty alright. Very fun, believable (even if fictional) stuff with the Twins' story and stuff, as well as Those Who Must Be Kept. I chuckled quite a bit at the parts taking part in Greece because I can just tell Anne Rice took a vacation there and went to all of the touristy spots of Athens. Was very endearing seeing her mention them all. And with how accurate that was, it is very funny how she decided to make up an island called "Lynkonos" later down the line-- for no apparent reason to me.
Honestly, I was quite intrigued by a lot of the characters in this book. I am glad she is expanding so much with this one and I loooove the interactions between the very old ones and the young ones. Lestat is truly still...ugh... You know. Marius knows. If I catch him! Also, I just adored the huge anti-religious rants towards the end of the book. Damn, she had guts. Loved that. Loved the parallels between ~certain~ characters that all tried to take on the mantle of "god". Anyway, looking forward to reading the next one in the series! Love where this universe is going :)

I liked the story and how it explains the beginning of everything. It was a bit confusing at first with all the different perspectives and stories but in the end it all comes together and it makes so much sense. I am loving this saga so far, I love how she explains how vampires feel and how their powers develop.
I feel like if I'd read these 10 years ago I would have made them my entire personality. Very gay and sacrilegious.
One thing I really love about Anne’s writing is how each of her books is a new style for telling the story. I loved how this one jumped around through so many points of views, I was so captivated by the 3 POVs at Lestat’s concert.
I found the whole story of the twins so moving, Anne always writes familial grief so beautifully.
I do wish I didn’t have to wait for the slightly misogynist shoe to drop every book, but I do expect it at this point in my Vampire Chronicle reading journey.
I loved this book and I think it was my favourite of the three so far. Like all her books, I think some editing was needed to trim some of the unnecessary extras done for a more flowing and precise story. All in all, this was a journey and I had an amazing time.

RELAPSED (reread the Devil's Minion chapter)
The book tended to drag in the middle but the ending definitely made up for it.
Lestat is my favorite devil. I find myself wondering if Akasha’s plan sounded good when I last read the novel some 20 plus years ago. I enjoyed the multiple perspectives but found some of the story more tedious. They left huge portions of the plot out of the movie.
Again, not my favorite narrator.
