While it was pretty easy to guess the outcome of this one, I really enjoyed it nonetheless. The book did manage to keep me on my toes throughout however but when you've read as many thrillers as I have you learn to think outside of the box which can lead to you guessing a plot twist or two along the way. I loved the way the story switched back and forth between the past and the present to give you the full scope of the events that were unfolding and in this case it went along way in determining which way you'd lean in figuring out who in fact was truly the guilty part. A very enjoyable read overall.

I've never felt so dumb reading a book (which is a good thing).

That ending devastated me, cause i hate the open endings so I didn't like it
But other than that it was so well written and fast paced and it kept me intrigued from the prologue

Oh. My. God.
That ending blew me away.

I just think it would have been more interesting if Tat had done it

Anna sets off on a summer holiday with her friends. Full of optimism for the fun they’re going to have, it doesn’t take long for things to go very horribly wrong. When Elise is found stabbed, the group are in shock. There’s talk of potential culprits, but the police spend a lot of time interviewing Anna and her friends.
Before we know it, Anna is imprisoned and about to face trial for the murder of her best friend. We follow her through the preparation for the case, and learn plenty of details that suggest a number of people are hiding things.
The book follows the trial. We see how those around Anna fall away, and we get to learn details that strongly suggest someone has a vested interest in securing a guilty verdict for Anna.
Fast-paced. Few of the characters actually generate strong feelings, and there’s something horribly manipulative about the way we’re given information. The closing stages of the book really did not, for me, help matters. Sometimes, the true horror is in the ambiguity and what we believe might have happened.

Hooked till the end..

i kind of predicted the twist towards the beginning but then told myself that would be ridiculous... guess i was right after all.

honestly, this book kind of fucked me up and i don’t know if it’s in a good way or not.

regardless, i read this pretty quickly and did really enjoy it! just that ending, man. the only part of the story that actually scared me.

4 stars

Wow! Definitely didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I did!
I’m usually not a huge fan of YA but this didn’t even feel like it at times or else I was just that into it that I couldn’t tell the difference (also really reminds me of the Amanda Knox trial so that’s also a plus) I would definitely recommend this book if you’re into having your mind kind of blown at the end!
