I love Tia Louise books and I've been loving this Bayside series, but I admit, Tangled Up was harder to sink my teeth into than the other books in this amazing series.

While I love the premise of a second chance romance (since I'm a product of that in my own personal life, I honestly love this trope), this couple ran hot and cold and I wanted to shove their faces in what they didn't want to admit so we could stay on the hot side of the story. There were a lot of great moments (don't get me wrong) I just lost the spark in the in-between moments.

Beck and Carly were a teenage couple that ran into trouble back when they were in college. Beck went on to become a doctor and Carly is a criminal psychologist, both with amazing careers by the way, but neither have really moved on from their great loves (which happen to be each other). When they both are back in their hometown, for reasons, after seven years apart, it seems as if fate has brought them together to reconcile, but it takes a whole lot more than a little hot reconciliation to make up for what happened in the past.

Can these two make up for what they lost before they lose a chance at a future again?

A lot of this story takes place back in their hometown of Eden and there are a lot of new secondary characters that pop up in this small coastal town where Beck and Carly grew up that sound very interesting for future books. While this particular book didn't hit home with me, I still adore Tia Louise and her writing and this interconnected series has been a huge win overall.

Tangled Up
Bayside Heroes
By: Tia Louise
Narrated by: Troy Duran, Samantha Brentmoor

Tia Louise does it again. Sucks me in and keeps me listening straight through a book. This is the last of her Bayside Heroes books, we get to know Beck! He has been speckled through the other books, but now we get to see exactly what makes this doctor tick. After treating a patient, he knew as a teen, he takes time to go back home and check on him. Little does he know that the woman that captured his heart all those years ago will be there too. Carly is back visiting her aunt as a precautionary measure of her job. Threatened by an escaped patient, her life may be in danger. Now these two meet by accident and all the unresolved feelings come to the surface. Steamy, exciting and suspense filled, Louise lets live with this couple as their broken hearts are revisited. Beck is holding a secret too that may just blow up the reunion. Steamy, exciting and suspense filled, Louise lets live with this couple as their broken hearts are revisited. Both Beck and Carly have issues that need to be overcome, and the suspense story is both heart wrenching and just scary enough to make me need to know the whole story! A great listen with great characters!

Narrated by Troy Duran and Samantha Brentmoor, I knew it was going to captivate me. Both are high on my list of favorites, and they did not disappoint. Duran led us straight to our hearts with Beck. Broken, guilty and so in love, we find so many different feels in his voice. Brentmoor gives us the strong yet vulnerable Carly. She brings out her incredible heart and compassion along with her love. This is a team you should not miss telling you a story!

A wildly addicting second chance romance with delicious enemies-to-lovers vibes weaved throughout, Tangled Up swept me off my feet and left me breathless. Tia Louise knows how to suck you in from the start and keep you begging for more. Surprising, fresh, and beautifully written. Five stars and a tequila sunrise!

Wow!!!!! I don't know what else to say about this one.

Beck & Carly are fabulous. The history that they share; including both love and pain. Their chemistry is off the charts from the very beginning.

Hottest Tia Louise book in a long time! I think Beck & Carly are my favorite Bayside couple.

I adored Beck and Carly.
I adored his need to right past wrongs and make her his.
I adored her strength and her sense of independence.
Her desire to do the right thing, even if it meant hurting her heart or losing her life.

Their story was sweet agony, with a dash of hope.
Full of uncertainty and past hurts that tainted their present, it was completely and totally consuming.
There was plenty of playful banter, as well as shared memories.
It was steamy, suspenseful, while sometimes being sweet and lighthearted.

A great end to the series.

Sweet entangled second chances at its best. Beck is a successful doctor in Tampa but after a few close calls and regrets from the past he is questioning things so he decides to go back to Eden where it all ended for him and Caroline. Caroline is headed back to her hometown to hide from a patient that has ran and threatened her. With secrets in both their pasts they both least expect to run into each other again, but this time will it be a chance to start fresh or only bring more pain on themselves? Caroline’s heart has endured a lot of pain especially at the hands of Beck when they were younger and after making rash decisions she entered into a situation that only broke her again. She doesn’t trust as easily as she use to but she still has a bleeding heart for caring for others as well as having a very optimistic view on life. Beck after a few times in Caroline’s presence decides she is his future if only she can forgive him and he can come clean about a few things but he has his work cutout for him. Can these two find their way back into each other’s hearts or is the past still a bitter pill to swallow? Will the person determined to bring Caroline down be successful or can they be stopped in time to save her? Suspenseful, tragic, heartwarming, and lovable this book has it all and you can’t help but fall in love with each and every character.

I was sucked into this book the moment I started reading it. Beck and Carly are brought back to their hometown after certain events in their lives and its clear these two still have so much chemistry and still love each other. There is a lot of hurt and betrayal from their pasts that factor into trying a relationship again but Beck is not giving up this time. Beck will make you swoon in his pursuit of Carly and even though she doesn’t want to get hurt again, she can’t help her feelings for him. I love the small town and all of their quirky characters. There is mystery and suspense that keeps you guessing what is going to happen next. Tia gave us a fun, emotional and suspenseful book that I couldn’t get enough of and you won’t want to miss this one.

All reviews posted at Tales of Love, Life, and Murder

Beck is the broody mysterious one in this group so we don’t know much about him yet but I expected his story would be intense. It’s a little heavier than the others but every bit as good. His life was dark and lonely, the only light being summers in Eden but the darkness eventually took that, too. Carly has had a tragic life as well, but still full of love and light and goodness in so many ways so she was fine. At least until Beck broke her heart, which she may never get past.

Carly and Beck have avoided one another for years but when they meet unexpectedly this time, the draw between them is too strong to fight. Their chemistry is off the charts and all the old feelings come rushing back along with it, but things are complicated, too. Eden was this safe cocoon where they could be together but now they have lives and careers far away and all the baggage of their first break-up. Their story is hot and they clearly belong together, but Carly has a stalker who’s determined to hurt her and everyone she loves so rebuilding their relationship isn’t the sole focus. The suspense had me on edge and I couldn’t put this book down but I loved every minute of it. There’s also a fantastic epilogue available from the author’s website that’s just the cherry on top!
