I liked the book but was disturbed by parts of it. Movie was good and close to book.

I’m in awe of this story and this book.

I was needing an audiobook and I just decided out of the blue to pick this. It’s been on my shelves for awhile and I have always been interested in it to pick it up. I won’t deny that the first like 2 chapters of the audiobook were a lot because of the Swedish names and everything to wrap my head around. I considered putting it down and waiting to read it physically. And then I listened to chapter 3 and continued onto like 5 or 6 in one sitting. I became obsessed with this story.

All I’ve wanted to do is listen to this in the last week. I had such a hard time picking up something else because of how engrossing this story is. Also I’m glad for the audiobooks because I would never had been able to pronounce the Swedish names ever. And I am totally going to listen to the rest of them on audio because I love the narrator and he does the rest of the books.

I really loved Mikael and Lisbeth. They were such interesting characters to hear from for the story. I also loved the story that this surrounded. It was so interesting to learn about the Vagner family and see everything unfold. It was just so good. It kept me wanting more and to figure out what was going on.

I might just continue with the next book immediately!

I'm not sure if I'm desensitized to horrible things or if this book just didn't hit the spot for me. The first two parts of this book were so boring to me. It was full of so much that I could care less about.

I did enjoy the investigation of this book. I was sucked in, and then the ending dragged again. I think this book could've been an easy 150 pages shorter, and it would've been much better.

Great book, lots of twists and turns. Much better than the movie(s. Character development was great, in my opinion.

for such a hyped book I felt very underwhelmed. there were some chapters that had me hooked and there was an interesting storyline but the pointless details and side characters just took any remaining allure from me tbh

I stayed up all night reading it. It flows and reels you in. The plot is a little mechanical. Of the two main characters, one is quite fascinating, the other - strangely shallow. This financial journalist made me quite mad when he says, in an interview, that since stock exchange does not represent true economy, its crash only affects a few rich speculators. However unreal are the equations of financial markets, however imaginary the math, when it goes haywire, it seems that common folk suffer too.
In another book I read recently, Assaf Gavron's Almost Dead, the protagonist during an interview is also shown sprouting dead phrases about some pretty big issues. It's kinda sad, but maybe true, and maybe that's the point: one can inadvertently get involved in a world-historical drama,
without this involvement yet in any way increasing critical awareness of the situation. The events are bigger than any one's ability to analyze them, perhaps (sometimes?) especially to the degree that one is actually involved in them.
