Jane Goodall is an extremely inspiring person with so much wisdom to share. I loved how this book challenged my thinking and prompted me to reconsider my perspective on some things. Always a delight reading about how we can save our world.

I'm not done reading the book, maybe 2 hours into the audiobook, and I hate it. It's contrived bullshit. Toxic positivity. Lib bullshit. White saviorism. Feel-good nonsense. No hint of intersectionalism. I respect Jane Goodall and what's she's contributed to this world, but this shit ain't it. I'm just hate-listening at this point and I don't know why I'm even bothering.

A fabulous audiobook experience. Read by both the authors. If you experience sadness and hopelessness about the state of the planet, you need to read this book. Jane is clear-eyed and honest but still hopeful about our capacity to change and care for the Earth. What an extraordinary life! What a force for good in the world!

Kind of just fluff? Sweet book, mildly interesting but not so that I felt like continuing to spend my time on it. So far nothing new or compelling had been covered.

I highly recommend this book. I started reading the ebook, and my library loan ended, so I picked up with the audiobook, and it was so worthwhile to listen to this one! The interview between Abrams and Jane Goodall is recorded by their own voices, which is really special. The book is clearly inspired by the Book of Joy which I also really loved.

Goodall shares so many inspiring stories about nature and resilience and hope. Her distinction between faith, optimism, and hope are compelling, and as I reader I was convinced to have hope for nature, humans, and the future.
