“I want to try making things right because picking up the pieces is way better than leaving them the way they are.”

I've had so many friends that raved about this author that I was really looking forward to reading it. I wanted to love this book, but I just didn't. I just could not connect with these characters. They never became real to me. I gave it a 3 but only because I couldn't give it a 2.5.

***Warning to my friends that have issues with language- do not read this book!

I got to chapter four and said, "Enough!". Profanities, swear words, and cussing is everywhere, and it can't be ignored no matter how hard you try.

I had hopes for this book, and I think that this author is a good writer, but really? Teenagers don't cuss THAT much. I read the summary on the back and it made me smile. I love the story line (as much as I read online anyway) but I just can't take this.

Do not read if you are like me and hate profanities staining every single page.

This book has been in my iBooks shelf almost 6 months, finally I decided to begin this series and fortunately the first book didnt disappoint, at least not in a big way.

Alex Fuentes is a bad boy in a gang and Brittany Ellis is a barbie with a shiny convertible, perfect boyfriend and the it-girl at her school.
There were A LOT of cliché moments -.- I know I shouldnt bring this up but... why does EVERY couple in YA books, fall in love because they end up being chemistry partners? Seriously, I wont say names, but it is getting a little bit annoying -.-

The type of writing was a little bit odd... At the beginning of the book it bother me so much I couldnt read 2 chapters on a row, later on I began to tolerate it, even then it is not my kind of narrative.

It was an okay book, though none of the characters made my list of favourites, maybe Paco... but truth be told, the book didnt let us know what exactly was his story...

the "latino accent" really got me

Good for what it was? I expected a teen romance about star crossed lovers with abundant angst and conflicts and I got that. However, you have to look past the several clichés and overall corniness (oh, the speeches!). I also didn't need to read about how much they are attracted to each other with words like "angelic" and "perfect" ugh. Still very enjoyable.
