The beginning and ending had a nice mix of action but the middle dragged on forever.

I thought since it’s the THIRD fucking book, it’d get better, but NOPE. Definitely no.

Of all the six Guardians, only Cole, Wes and Vali seemed to be natural with Kit.

River was fucking cringe as fuck with that failed “alpha” thing going on. Seriously, this isn’t the way you write an alpha male. Like, if I could take a shot every time River is highlighted as ALPHA, I’d be fucking wasted. And the way he and Kit progressed in the relationship… for the love of God, WHY?

Next, Austin. Fucking Austin. Stupid as fuck. Rude. Asshole. Proud and arrogant. Fucking dumb as hell. I get the whole trying to do that enemies-to-lovers shit, but this ain’t it. Not natural. Forced. And because of his ego, it had put Kit in danger for NO FUCKING REASON. I super duper hate him. If any one of the Guardians should die, it’d be him. I choose him. Die, you son of a bitch.

Caleb. Every time he called her “Kitty Cat”, I died a little inside. Fucking cringe as hell (excuse me for harsh language in this review). He’s so hippy happy happy-go-lucky it’s unnatural. IDK, MAYBE IT’S THE WRITING?

No chemistry whatsoever between Kit and her Guardians. Like… Ugh.

And then there’s Kit. FUXKING HELL SHE’S SO DAMN STUPID HOW IS SHE STILL ALIVE AND THE REPETITIVE STORYLINE IS BECOMING TIRESOME she was introduced in Book 1 as someone badass and strong, but well into Book 3 it’s like her brain cells have been diminished.

Lack of communication between Kit and Austin was fucking annoying.

I still don’t understand jack shit about the supernatural beings in Harrow. It was a freaking waste of time and plot going to Harrow. No point???

Cole, Wes and Vali are sweet. Can’t wait for the date with Wes and Vali and Kit starting a relationship. (So I hope once those two get together with her, TJ wouldn’t destroy the chemistry as well.)

THAT CLIFFHANGER AHHHHHHH

I liked this one, too.

Our romance with Austin has grown, but we've kinda let poor Caleb fall to the wayside. He's being way too secrety and weird, though, so it makes sense for him to start distancing himself. I'm excited to see where it goes with Wes (he's my fav rn). I feel like we've shifted away from Cole and Vali really fast though, and I wish we'd explored them, their dragons, or their brotherhood more. Similarly, I think River is being poorly written. It feels a bit bland for him to just be a broody Alpha because he's the leader . Meh.

I think Kit is realistic, still. Some argue she's a super special snowflake, and that's not wrong . But, we gotten remember she's just a teenager, basically - barely out of school - when her entire world is upending. Left and right, there's something bad or weird happening, with basically no knowledge or help along the way. Then, at the end, we find out
Spoiler that dad is behind half of it, like the car bomb and training accidents.
Never trusted him anyway. It stands to reason that Kit would make mistakes, annoyingly stupid ones at that (literally yelled at my screen at one point). It's unchartered territory after all.

I can't help it, but I keep comparing this to All the Pretty Monsters and finding that I'm enjoying this far more. It feels less broken, special snowflakey, and the RH part of it being fleshed out better imo. It's similar vibes and intrigue without all the angst and edgelordness.

DAT FINAL !!!!!
