Loved the wacky characters and Craig's humor never disappoints. I'm looking to the next in this series.

Grade B-
3.5*
This is an enjoyable book, even if there's nothing especially unique about it. It's a predictable romance and even as the characters tell themselves they need to back off or stop the relationship "before they fall in love,' the reader is never in doubt of the eventual end. What makes it enjoyable is the light touch of the writer, the decent suspense plot, and solid characters. The book has a few humorous moments, but thankfully doesn't digress into too much silliness.
Recommended for those who enjoy light contemporary romantic suspense with a dash of humor.

drey’s thoughts:
Christie Craig always makes me laugh, and Don’t Mess with Texas is no exception… The cast of characters are interesting and varied. Their issues are all love-related. And the murder-mystery is a doozy. What’s a suspect to do?
Well, how about not falling for the hunky PI who swears he’s just helping her out? Never mind that he’s gorgeous, oh-so-earnest about helping her out, and have I mentioned gorgeous? I have? Well, I guess it bore repeating… And I guess the “don’t fall in love” warning really doesn’t belong in a romance novel, does it?
Anyway. Prepare to be entertained if you pick this up. And you’ll pick this up if you like your love stories hot, funny, and with more than a dash of cheek.
drey’s rating: Excellent!

This was fun. The cover tricked me as I thought it would be a cowboy romance, but there was nary a cowboy in sight! I liked the PI agency though and will definitely read others in the series. There were a few more typographical errors than I generally expect in a final published book, but the writing was good other than that.
