Although I really enjoyed this book I felt like the first 100 pages moved a little slow and the plot was predictable. I still really liked it and can't wait to read Prodigy.

I had high hopes for this book, and maybe that’s why I didn’t like it that much. I kind of liked Legend! It was fast-paced and entertaining. But I didn’t see the hype that much. At the end of this series, I felt really bored. Usually, I really try to read the book and finish it. But I just skipped a few pages in Champion and searched spoilers haha! I DID read the last few pages where SOMETHING happens.. It hurt, but it was okay. I read Rebel and skipped to the last pages so I know that it was going to be okay haha. I skipped Rebel because I just felt really bored already with the series and didn’t feel like reading it.

Wow such a great dystopian! I hardly ever read dystopians and I made a massive exception for Legend and I loved every single page! The characters were really great and even if the characters are there for a short amount of time I never forgot about them. I wish I could have spent more time with Metias before he died. I also really enjoye how action packed all three books were I was always interested ! The ending for this trilogy left me with this bittersweet feeling and longing to know more about what happened to the characters after champion but I still loved it. I understand the reason why Marie lu ended it the way she did but I wanted a little more! But considering a lot of other dystopian series this ended pretty well compared to other dystopians. This book helped me out of a reading slump and I lived this series just as much as the young elites. I honestly can't pick which series I enjoyed more.

"Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything's possible again. You live in the moment, you die in the moment, you take it all one day at a time. You try to walk in the light."

Note: this review is about the series as a whole, not just one particular book.

There are many great things about this series. Nowadays dystopian books have gotten so popular and many are predictable and, simply, not good. The Legend series, however, takes any cliches and predictions you may have about it and stomps them into the ground. (I mean, I was able to predict a couple twists in here, but it didn't make it any less enjoyable to read).

We read this series through the eyes of June (a crazy smart girl working within the government) and Day (a boy who's an outlaw). Both of them have a unique voice that makes it a joy to read from either point of view. The character development of not just June and Day, but other characters were written wonderfully. And, though it's obvious there will be romance, it doesn't overpower the plot.

Also, the world-building was great. There were no info-dumps, and we were introduced a dystopian society that was realistic and a bit different from others.

We aren't given regular heroes/heroines with a strict sense of right and wrong. Everyone here has made mistakes and confused about choices that must be made. We have characters who are trying their best to do what they believe is right, even though they might not always be correct, and it's rarely easy. And that's much more realistic, yeah?

(Spoiler alert!) The ending to this series was one that was bittersweet... And I quite liked it. It was a different (and I think the best way) to end it. (Spoiler over.)

I'd really recommend everyone to read this.

What did I think? I think maybe this is the best dystopian I've read 'til now.

SpoilerCan we please have an after story? This time I think I really need a HEA. This ending breaks my heart because both of them deserve so much more. Usually, Im not affected by no HEAs but god you have to understand. I think I'll make my own just to settle my head, OR I'LL GO CRAZY! Im telling you, [a: Marie Lu|4342215|Marie Lu|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1285032806p2/4342215.jpg]

I love this book, just how I love all Marie Lu books. I'm going to go in and talk about how literally all of her books take away stereotypes. Like, a lot of stereotypes.
She has not-straight relationships, and I hate that I have to say it is so ground-breaking, but in books they portray couples as straight at least 90% of the time (and interracial relationships also aren't common, but that's a different argument in a different book).
So I love how Marie Lu adds REALITY to her books, because not everyone is straight, not every civilization and relationship in great and fabulous. I know it sounds stupid when I say this, because her books are science fiction. Science fiction ISN'T reality.
HOWEVER, humans don't change when they are put in different situations. The greed humans have is always the same, the darkness humans have is there regardless of the situation, the hatred and love everyone has is also the same. And these realities are always there, no matter what. This is portrayed constantly in her books.
People's embarrassment and their sexuality and their experiences are contained enough to be YA, but is still AWESOME.
So now that my rant is over, I can safely say I love this book.
