I cannot speak highly enough of this book. This beautifully written novel will take you on a journey through one of the tumultuous time periods in human history, but simultaneously will take you on a journey of the soul. There are some truths that transcend religion, culture or time and this book is full of them. I highly HIGHLY recommend this book, and probably will be reading it again very soon. By far this is my favorite book that I have ever read.

This book being the first one I finished reading this year gives me a feeling of extreme happiness for the subject it dealt with and the beauty of narration. In no point in time, you get bored of the plot settings and the flow of happenings.
One of the deepest marvelous forms of love I've ever seen. Love that transcends beyond all limitations we to the ultimate liberating force named love. Love that finds no barrier and no end.. each and every character is so beautifully woven into the plot that celebrates the eternal ethereal bonding of Shams and Rumi. Forty rules of love celebrate the goodness and kindness that we ought to pick at the most adverse times. It talks about endless selfless love and the brevity of it.. talks about the love that brings transgression, love that brings ablution of your soul and makes it anew every single day.. got swooned by the mystics rules of love, every single one of them. I even wished the book hadn't ended .. I secretly wished it to go on and on.
In short, it is an exquisite celebration of love in all its might.

Did not finish

Beautifully written but the stories felt a bit disjointed at times.

My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

Well I liked the book, even loved some parts of it.Some of its quotes were really awesome. Some other quotes, however, were too clichè!
I've always liked to know what had happened between Shams and Molana,so thats another reason that I liked it!
However, the ending didn't make much sense to me,I didn't like it much.

Here's my review
