It’s beautiful! I’m beyond words that I’m short of words to write a review. It’s gripping, wonderfully written, heartwarming. oh what a lovely , lovely read! Can’t believe that I hadn’t read it all this while! Highly recommend.

This book ripped my heart to shreds but, strangely, restored it better than before. (ik I'm exaggerating but still) my sister bought me this book after finishing my exams, and although I heard about elif shafak, ngl I was never interested in reading any of her books, until I came across this one in a little shop in a mall, they were only selling like 10 other books

I wanted to take my time reading The Forty Rules Of Love , annotating along the way. It felt like a journey, I found myself seeing glimpses of Shams in my everyday life. Constantly reminded of his teachings, no matter how absurd they sounded at first, although they were some things that didn't sit quiet right with me; but I loved it nonetheless...

DID NOT FINISH: 36%

Lent it form the library and had to give it back before finishing. Also not my cup of tea.

I find the book intriguing in many ways, but it attempts to do too many things at once. I found the two storylines interesting and complementary but sometimes competing with each other as well, with neither one really giving a satisfying narrative.

I would probably still read another book from this author, but for anyone looking for a dreamy, philosophical book about love and spirituality, this is a good pick.

I would’ve loved to give it 3,5 stars, but alas, such is Goodreads.
