There's no doubt Samantha Irby is funny, entertaining and more than able to keep you listening -in my case with the Audible version of her book- but this book kind of felt just like We Are Never Meeting in Real Life; and yes, I know Autobibliographic material is like this, I guess it is my own fault for not waiting a bit longer to read it after the other one, same thing happened with Mindy Kaling's second book in which I felt a bit cheated.
Anyway, I will admit that there's enough material in someone's life to make several novels and that the approach of different aspects of one same life serves as for some variety; it was nice to get to know her a bit more through new pieces of information and other amusing stories. There's stuff here which with a lot of us can relate whilst there are others that help us understand someone else's difficulties and challenges better.
I like funny, honest, interestingly boring people... some days I am one myself... and Irby manages to make some non-glamorous aspects of life subjects to expand and discuss, she dares to breach a gap that sometimes gets a bit blurry because the truth is we humans are more alike than we care to admit.

Oh Samantha Irby, I love you so.
This essay collection starts out solidly (sometimes you laugh. sometimes you cry. sometimes you cry-laugh) but by the end gets kind of....bloggy? In the edition I read (rooster cover) I think the last few chapters are actually blog entries that got copy/pasted over complete with typos. But that seems like a dumb thing to complain about when the rest of it made me laugh so hard.
