this was a good insight into their lives, though it did dip in interest at times and felt very much like their voices. i definitely had a good time throughout, and i think it really improves halfway through. i especially loved the chapter on bear, and their times in wwe.
a must read for anyone who thinks it’s easy being a wrestler, and anyone who enjoys a bit of bts on the journey.
overall i had a good time.

Solid memoir. Didn’t know much about them. Pretty remarkable careers and insights. I really enjoyed this a lot. With the GR metric I’d lean towards a 3.5.
I have been following Nikki Bella since watching her on Dancing With The Stars. I think her and Artem are the cutest together. After hearing Brie and Nikki as guests on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast, I knew I wanted to read their book and learn more about their lives. They both went through traumatic experiences, but they were able to remain strong and create a positive life for themselves and for others. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of WWE simply because I never chose to watch it. However, I found it fascinating reading about their journey as wrestlers and behind-the-scenes of how women were treated in the industry. Brie and Nikki fought for the equality of women wrestlers and paved the way for newcomers to be treated better than previous wrestlers. They also talk about their reality shows Total Divas and the spinoff Total Bellas, their clothing line Birdiebee, and their wine label. I loved the format of this book, as the two took turns narrating their life experiences.
So the Bella sisters are one of my secret guilty pleasures... I had an ex way back that was into wrestling and that got me into it, I was away for it for a while and then one weekend did a Total Divas binge and got sucked back in. The Bellas have by far been my favorite, they are all girl power and have grown their wrestling fame into an entrepreneurial empire. I've always appreciated that they were down to earth and honest about wanting more in life.
This book totally has their voice throughout, it's a bit like watching Total Bellas or their podcast. It filled in lots of gaps for me, their life growing up, their journey into wrestling and all of their relationships. I enjoyed the stories and that they flipped back and forth narrating the stories from each sister's POV. The timeline was a little all over the place which was difficult to get into at first. But any Bella Army fan will love the wrestling insights.
I also was really looking for more of the entrepreneurial side of the pair. They talk a lot about girl power and bringing equality to the WWE which is fabulous, but I wanted to hear how that translated into their businesses. They talked about selling the most merchandise in WWE but not about how they built their brand. They dip slightly into the start of Birdie Bee but it just didn't give enough of the info I was hoping to learn. I hope some day they consider a 'How To' type entrepreneurial business book, their view point is so important.

Growing up, I was a hardcore wrestling fan. I loved the theatrics and the excitement of it all. I used to want to be a WWE Diva, but one of the bad asses like Lita. After a while, I stopped watching it, thinking it had gotten too fake and ridiculous. That was, until I started watching Total Divas. I was fascinated by their lives and instantly took a liking to Brie and Nicole. I’ve followed their careers since then, and I’m so impressed by where they are.
Listening to their untold story just makes me like them more. Some parts were downright inspirational, and I found myself getting pumped up about my own life. I really enjoyed this book!

3.5 stars. I LOVE the Bella Twins which might have been why this didn’t get a higher rating. I knew a lot of the “tea” that was mentioned in the book because I’ve watched their shows, listen to their podcast, and have a husband who loves WWE. I loved hearing more about their feelings during everything that happened and around their home life growing up which really had not been broadcasted until this book. I also struggled with some of how it was written. The switching between the twins was easy to read; my issue was with how I felt it had a lot of repetitive details on the same topic and then certain parts were glazed over. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and love how much they tied women empowerment as a main theme!
