Really enjoyed this one! Very creative idea and love the evolution of the characters as the book goes on. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Fun premise but the characters were unbearably dull and the plot spiraled pretty quickly into endless tedium. Fitting for the world I suppose, but certainly doesn’t make for a good read. Ended up hating it by the end if I’m being honest 😭

This book is both grimy and gorgeous, both fever-dreamy and sharply lucid, a tale of adventure and a study of character, full of incredible prose written by a poet.
My enthusiasm waxed and waned several times while reading it, but now that I can step back and take in the whole made from the parts, I'm slightly in awe of it all, even the bits that didn't grab me while I was in it.
