Might come back to this but it was just so intellectual and felt too much like nonfiction

Really wanted to like it more than I did. last section swept me up but the rest left me cold. Turns out I care about von Neumann less than I thought and maybe don’t want to read anything else about the atomic bomb (let alone AI…)

Benjamin Labatut is an excellent author, his style is unique and interesting. I always love the themes he is able to weave throughout the numerous stories/essays he puts in his books. The Maniac is a little more focused than his previous book 'When We Cease to Understand the World', but it still lost me on a couple of chapters.
