Okay so I don't see the whole "I don't know who I like more anymore" thing... I used to dislike Zayne, now I like him alright but he's really no Roth to me...
Anyway, I think it's more of a 4,5 for me because of the love triangle that becomes a more real one, and I don't do love triangles and because some of it seemed forced I guess, didn't seem right?
But in the end, I still love this world, and JLA has the power to make me feel things so so deeply, it's just... Wow
And really I was kind of dreading this but in the end, I had really no reason to...
Second reading:
My opinion of Zayne has changed. I don't really like him anymore and I sure as hell hate the way Layla worships him even when he's being a D-bag but I don't hate him like I used to after WHK either... He's in a neutral zone. The book itself was pretty great aside from my being pissed off at some Layla/Zayne scenes. Also, the love-triangle didn't seem as forced as I thought after the first reading. It was okay. (Except that I still don't like love triangles of course.) I had more thoughts while reading but I can't remember them right now and I need to start Every Last Breath!

It got better at the 90% mark, but that is far too late in the game to save this.
Ugh JLA's books always do this to me. Ultimate guilty pleasure.
Way better than the first. I still hate Zayne tho.
Roth playing so hard to get was so annoying though. Edward in New Moon, much?

That ending oh my god. I need the third book asap. I don't even know whether I'm team Zayne or Roth anymore. They both have good and bad things about them. I think that whoever Layla ends up with in the last book will be a good choice. Okay maybe I am leaning a bit towards Roth but if it isn't him can I have him? Lol

Alright, so I had a bit harder time getting through Stone Cold Touch. I still enjoyed it and when I got to the last 100 pages, it really flew by for me. I felt like this book was just a rehash of White Hot Kiss. Layla, once again spends most of the novel confused, and being treated like completely crap by the Wardens. Layla's confusion makes sense. There isn't anyone she can go to about her powers, because there isn't anyone like her. She also started having feelings for Roth, while still having a crush on Zayne. When you are seventeen, that is an awful lot.
I was frustrated with Roth, with his whole I'm gonna be a dick to keep Layla safe. I also grew frustrated with Zayne, because it felt like he never treated Layla's concerns as valid. She had every right to be concerned for his safety. Which point is proven towards the end of the novel. As I was reading, I just kept getting frustrated with how everything felt repetitive. It felt like we were just biding our time until we could get to the moment when something big could happen, and then move onto the next portion of the story. Overall, I still enjoyed Stone Cold Touch, but it definitely has middle book syndrome. I still enjoyed the characters, and was so happy that Stacey had finally been let in on Layla's secret. The cliffhanger was exciting and I'm interested to see where this series goes.
