It’s so cliched. It’s so ridiculous. Think Twilight with the weird love triangles and the damsel who always seems to be in distress and the characters who are completely messed up. It’s such a guilty pleasure book. If you are looking for substance this is not your book. If you are interested in a unique plot line it really isn’t your book. If you want mindless entertainment (which I do) this is what you want to read.
OMG I LOVED IT SO SO MUCH !
i fell in love all over again with Roth an i like zayne that's it Layla needs to be with Roth
I’m pretty sure the first question I got asked when people saw me reading Stone Cold Touch was “Are you Team Zayne or Team Roth?”
I’m not entirely sure how to answer this question even after finishing. If you’ve read any of Jennifer’s books, then you know she does swoony guys amazingly well, and well, when she’s got two in one story that just makes it even harder to decide which one you’re going to cheer for.
Stone Cold Touch picks up shortly after White Hot Kiss. Can I just say that I’m glad I waited to read these two books back vbg back because that cliffhanger would probably have had me sending Jennifer random gifs of sobbing people via twitter. Jumping back into Layla’s world, she is trying to figure out where she belongs as well as work out her feelings for the two guys who have stolen pieces of her heart. Roth who she connected with in ways she never expected and Zayne, her lifelong friend who is absolutely off-limits, but keeps hinting at things not staying that way.
Suddenly Layla’s powers aren’t exactly the same, they keep changing and she isn’t exactly sure why. And the Warden’s… the people she’s considered family all these years are keeping secrets from her and she isn’t really sure who she can trust.
Okay so yes… love triangle. Deal with it. The best thing about this one, at least for me, is that I can’t even decide who I’d like to see her with. They are both amazing guys and they both love her for the same types of reasons. It’s hard to decide who I’d like to see her with in the end.
Which leads me to the guys. Totally lovely guys. Guys who will sacrifice and betray for her. I loved every second of it.
And Layla is a wonderful character herself. The struggles she’s presented with in this book really have her making some tough decisions and her struggle to figure out who she can trust and confide in and ultimately lean on was a great part of this story.
The end… though not really a cliff-hanger in my eyes, I have to say that I kind of saw that coming. That doesn’t mean I’m less excited for what’s next, in fact, just the opposite. I can’t wait to see what Jen does to our group in book 3!
If you’re looking for something a bit different – gargoyles are nothing I’ve read before, then you’re going to want to pick this series up. In true Jennifer Armentrout fashion, she hooks you with an amazing story, wonderful characters and swoony guys who will probably have you drooling a bit.
Thank you to Harlequin Teen for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I had high hopes for the follow-up to White Hot Kiss and I wasn't let down. The tension between love interests is believable and the heroine is relatable. All in all, I'm wishing I could live in the world and rock Bambi on my hip.
To say that this book was filled with twists and turns would be an understatement. Whoa! On to book 3!!

This was pretty saucy. Excited to finish the series and make my final judgement. Unfortunately I can’t listen to the next audiobook until July 19 :( I have the paperback copy already so I might just pick it up physically but the audiobooks have been very convenient.
I am really enjoying this series! This was a really fun book. There was a little too much angst for my tastes but I still love the story. Layla grew as a character and I liked getting to know Zayne more. Looking forward to the last one!
Team Roth! Errrr team Dez (mmm auburn locks)! Actually, team Bambi ;)!
