challenging emotional mysterious sad tense fast-paced

I enjoyed this one more than the first. It constantly caught me off guard and left me guessing. I never saw the twists coming and I am effectively hooked.

Holy gargoyle babies! I love this series SO much the writing and characters all of it amazing. I'm pretty sure I held my breath the entire time I read it which thankfully I read in one sitting because folks it is that awesome. I usually like to savior the book so I try not to read it all at once but this book demands to be read every page a new emotion was brought to the surface and the need to know what is going to happen next was always emanate.
It also needs to be said that this should be the way love triangles should be it is majorly epic and so difficult to chose but I have always been a fan or team Zayne and this book really cinched it even more. So if Layla doesn't end up with him can I have him!?

I can always count of Jennifer Armentrout to always provide some fantastic paranormal romance reads with some swoony guys and this series was no different. I loved both guys – Zayne and Roth – and thought that both were fantastic choices. Though, to be fair, I would probably lean more towards Roth because of that bad boy vibes. But more importantly though, I loved the banter between the two of them and would have totally thought it would have been more twisty if they got together rather than with Layla.

However, my only issue in this book was Layla herself. I don’t know how to say this politely but she seemed like a very dumb person. There were so many times when it was so obvious that things were going one way or why things were happening the way they were and she wouldn’t get it. Even when it was clearly spelled out especially in the last book. There was one scene (no spoilers!) where someone explained something and somehow she only interpreted that one way and not fully so when it happened, she was like “no one told me this”. Um, hello, they did. You were just stupid and didn’t get it.

Thankfully, the rest of the book was addicting. I really enjoyed the plot (except for when Layla was being dumb) and liked the whole Warden versus demons and finding out the origin of the Wardens. Another favorite of mine were the side characters specifically Bambi. I loved Bambi so much as well as Layla’s friends. But Bambi especially was so endearing to me and I loved how sassy she was.

Overall, I enjoyed the series – just not Layla.

This book didn't really keep my attention. I think it was a bit longer than it had to be. An interesting twist in this series is that readers get the chance to vote for which guy in the love triangle we want Layla to end up with in the next book. However, I didn't feel like it was written in a way for there to be any real contest. I think it's obvious who it's supposed to be, even though I'm totally voting for the other guy!

First of all, I would just like to say: HOLY CLIFFHANGER BATMAN! I cannot deal with this right now.
Okay, so this is a Jennifer Armentrout book, and really, anything that she writes is amazing, so it goes without saying that this book was EPIC.
I have read a lot of books recently where I can pretty much pick what the 'Big Reveal' is going to be. And while that's not a bad thing, it takes the fun out sometimes if you're reading and already know what the characters themselves don't. Stone Cold Touch had me guessing up to the very last page. Because realistically, we know it isn't what everyone thinks it is (gee, vague much?), and there are all these clues pointing in the right direction, but none of it seems to make much sense. And that's how I love to read my books. The reading experience is just so much better that way.
I'm not a huge fan of love triangles, and this books secondary plot is pretty much a love triangle. But damn if JLA doesn't do it so much better than Stephanie Meyer. Because, lets be honest, I'm having a really hard time choosing between Team Roth or Team Zayne (but seriously? It's Roth all the way). Both love interests were so loveable. It's the first time ever where one guy hasn't blown me away over the other - because they're both so freaking awesome.
As always, I JLA's book. She can do no wrong.
If you like love triangles, this book is for you. If you love books that keep you guessing till the last page, this book is for you. And if you haven't picked The Dark Elements series yet (or, Hell, ANY of JLA's books), DO IT!!!

Loved the ending, and lots of action made it a fun read. I had a hard time getting into the romance though. This book did make me solidly Team Zayne though.

A wonderful sequel to White Hot Kiss! I'm still definitely Team Roth! I cannot wait for Every Last Breath!

this series is so bad it's great. cheesy and angsty. the cliffhanger at the end totally surprised me though, just when I was feeling confident I knew exactly what was going to happen. already reading the sequel.

Almost 3 starts because of Zayne (ew), four stars because of Roth (yay). So, 3.5? Yes. That's my review. For the last book I'll write more, I swear!

Okay. Still not cool with the book cover. But damn. I need the next book in the series.
