Not sure if this helped or worsened my existential crisis that is my life. I feel so conflicted yet so understood. So fearful yet so accepting.
I’m grateful to be able to have read this book.
I’m grateful to be able to have read this book.
I read this book because my wonderful girlfriend mentioned she read this a while ago and loved it. Of course, this comment inspired me to pick it up. My plan was to read it, find out why she loved it so much, see if I could find pieces of her in the pages, annotate it with my own thoughts, and then gift it to her.
I did exactly that. Unexpectedly, I fell in love with this book. I closed this book with tears streaming down my cheeks and infinitely more grateful for the love and health in my life and the lives of my loved ones.
This book reminded me how sacred love and life is.

I came home from work Friday night, and after having dinner, I cracked open this book, started reading, and didn't close it again until I finished. In life, Paul was always fascinated with meaning, studying literature and ultimately becoming a neurosurgeon. In death, he exemplified a courageous spirit, teaching us to face it without fear. Had he lived, he would have saved countless lives, yet when death cut his life short, he imparted a more beautiful gift, one filled with hope, love, and joy. His message is a gift and the influence on my life indelible. Please read this book!!
