“I can say I made a lot of mistakes, but I don’t regret things. Because at least I didn’t spend a life standing outside, wondering what living would be like.” [a: Sarah Dessen|2987|Sarah Dessen|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1372181953p2/2987.jpg], [b: This Lullaby|22205|This Lullaby|Sarah Dessen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1397779294l/22205._SY75_.jpg|132402]
Remy Starr is incapable of falling in love, or so she thinks. She’s seen it all from her mother - moving on to marriage number five - she knows love doesn’t last. But, then she meets Dexter- completely out of her comfort zone.
This just freshly graduated high school romance novel I thought was adorable in construct, but I had trouble wanting to read this novel. It was extremely difficult to relate to most of the characters, I couldn’t quite imagine the characters in my head- it just felt off. It seemed like I had already read this novel, but with fresh characters. I’m pretty sure I related more to the story Remy’s mother was writing than this novel itself.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good cheesy romance novel that makes me twinkle with love, and makes me feel motivated and inspired, but I didn’t feel that way at all until the last 50 pages when it started to get a little more interesting. It was all a bit too predictable for my taste. Mind you, this is my first Sarah Dessen novel I have read. The feel, to me, was more pass-the-time summer novel than cozied-up-in-the-winter reel-me-in novel. Cute, but not attention-grabbing.
Would I recommend this novel? Yes, but only to those who prefer simple, easy-to-read books.

¿Porqué no lo siento cómo un final feliz? Es tan real y tan humano...
Revisited an old fav from junior high (or maybe high school? Who knows). Dessen’s writing style is nice, easy to read. This is my favorite of hers.

This just captures being a teenage girl so well, I get why I was obsessed
strong leading characters and a heartbreaking view of love but a great story. wish we got a little bit more backstory of Dexter but overall, i loved it.

It was.. okay. I kind of expected more out of Sarah Dessen. I found the main character highly unlikeable, and all the other characters quite distant. It was also extremely difficult for me to get into this book.
