This filled my requirements of what I like in an A/B/O. I won't bore you with why - I just do!

The reality in this shifter AU was more harsh than I'm used to, where omegas aren't looked upon highly, their worth long forgotten due to their rarity. Poor Ezekiah doesn't want to be a victim of inevitability, but his wolf's natural urges pretty much ensure that regardless of what his mind wants, he will submit to a powerful alpha with little resistance. Enter Parker. His wolf too, wants to blindly claim the omega, and he does so with relative ease.

This had good angsty longing to go with a nice hurt/comfort, as well as alpha protectiveness and possessiveness plus KNOTTING. I just wish we got a more drawn out development of the caring and getting to know one another between Parker and Ezekiah. It's there, but I wanted more!! I'm greedy like that.

However, I love the premise, and I would definitely never say no to Henry writing in this trope ever, and that goes for Sterek too. Just saying...

Thank you!

3.5 stars because I really want to know what's going on with Kiah's previous pack and the postcards, and because Kiah kind of got on my nerves in multiple ways. He wanted Parker, but he kept pushing him away because he didn't want Parker just because his wolf did. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. And allowing Parker to treat him the way he did for so long just annoyed me. He should have either confronted Parker or taken off. He allowed himself to be claimed but then fought Parker the whole way, yet allowed himself to be spoken to and treated like crap.

Just what I needed, a well written quick read. Enjoyed the story and hope that Lisa heeds the requests and writes further about this pack.

No chemistry between Alpha Parker and Omega Ezekiah. Parker was selfish and shallow. He did not do anything to earn Ezekiah's submission. Parker had no interest in learning about Ezekiah as a human. Parker had more respect and feelings for his sister Kate than he did for Ezekiah. There wasn't any relationship development beyond shifter hierarchy, Alpha dominance, and Omega biochemistry. Both MCs just went through the mechanics of human D/s and shifter mating/knotting without emotional attachment.

I would recommend [b:Duck!|8178400|Duck! (Avian Shifters, #1)|Kim Dare|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1273661196s/8178400.jpg|13024937] and [b:The Mark of an Alpha|7203640|The Mark of an Alpha (Pack Discipline, #1)|Kim Dare|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1360570494s/7203640.jpg|7904668] by Kim Dare.

There wasn't much BDSM. The sex was pretty bad.

I like the shifter side of the story and that wolf and man don't always have to see eye to eye even though they are the same person. That both need to be respected and trust/loyality/etc needs to be earned from both wolf and man.

I also "like" why Parker had to take power - in order to protect the reputation of the previous Alpha. Did it hurt them all? Yes. But, I think, the alternative would have hurt even more.

I didn't like that Parker just took what he wanted and Ezekiah didn't get a choice.

I was side-eyeing Parker there for a second but he proved me wrong. Interesting twist there!
