I'm so glad I decided to read this after starting the show recently. This was a beautiful story. Wang and Tian will live in my brain rent free for a very long time.

The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is because in the beginning there's a lot of classwork jargon that got a little monotonous.

The novel is inspirational and gives life lessons to teenagers. We have single parents who aren't involved fully with their children's education yet the teenage characters miraculously turn out relatively well. It creates nostalgia in me. I wonder what would have happened if I were thrust into the novel: it would unlikely have a good outcome. The anticipated BL aspect, I will be able to skim over as I am not reading this for BL. Surprisingly enough, the prurient graphic scenes are not presented and are left for the readers' imagination, which I applaud. Danmei is a broad novel type that has something for people who might not be into BL as has been documented in academic research journals.

(Of course, if any reader knows of any translated Chinese fiction novels, not necessarily BL or gay, which deal with education like here, feel free to recommend them to others like me).

I love it, musuli might be my top 3 authors now. I don't even know where to begin after reading. Admittedly i shed tears few times, it hurts so good but it was all finally come to the right place

I wish there's more moment with zhao xi and lin beiting, maybe double date? Who knows?

Also the most I remember is "time waits for nobody" so guys... Just do it
