I took a long break from this series and was pleasantly surprised when I picked it back up. However the dog's antics are just so dumb, I can't even. I have to deduct 0.5-1 a star for the dog
Spoilerdrinking alcohol and eating stuff that would kill a dog, it's not funny. They try and explain it by saying that dog is special but yeah, no.

I listened to the audiobook. I will go with a 3.5 for a rating because this book dragged in spots. The narration was good. I was able to be fully engaged in the story forgetting it was narrated by one person.

I thought Brigid and Raider's relationship was lukewarm at best. I liked Raider and that he was cool under pressure, but I was truly sick of him getting beat up and threatened ALL the time. It was relentless. Thank goodness he had Wolfe for back up.

I like everyone on the team and all of their quirky behavior is somewhat endearing. It did seem like this book had a heightened level of violence, to the point of being tiring.

I thought Brigid would be more involved in the Op than she was and I kept waiting for her to appear, but she didn't. That was surprisingly.

Overall, not a bad book, just too long.

Awesome. Loads of action, suspense and a nice romance thrown in. Love Brigid the hacker and her handler(?). Hard to stop reading this one. There is so much going on and some very frightening characters. Do they get their comeuppance? Read it and find out. Always a hoot in this series of books are the two animal characters Roscoe and Kat. Absolutely Love Them.

4.25 stars... Wow what a crazy story and I love these two finding their way to an HEA and a life together on their team. Can't wait for more! Full review coming soon to the blog.

I am so disappointed in this book with these two MCs I just expected more. In general, this author seems to be more hit and miss more than anything else.

It was going well for a while but then it dragged, it picked up again which is good but the case that they were working was just so FUBAR that the last thing Raider and Wolfe pulled was just unbelievable and ruined it for me. The MC are okay together but Brigid acts like a teenage with a ridiculous crush. She’s a grown ass woman so I don’t get it. I wasn’t that keen of Raider he was a dipshit for me tbh. Not only that a lie by omission is still a frigging lie.

This is me and not the book as I seem to be the only one who doesn’t really like it.

I’ve got to think about continuing the series.

Fallen by Rebecca Zanetti
Starts with an excerpt and the authors other series works and table of contents and acknowledgements.
Hope by reading this I won't be left in the dark as I've not read the other two Deep Ops books. Can be read as a stand alone also!
They were able to get Brigid out of the prison to help them with her expertise on the computer. Others are keeping secrets from her about how they think her father, Irish mob affiliates may also be caught...
Lots of tactical moves and I also was able to learn a bit about the others in the group-from previous books in the series that I have not read.
Raider is under cover as her fiancee and they are to meet her father...
Story line reminds me a lot of the Enemy Within on NBC, it's such a cool show...
Brigid knows they can send her back to her solitary cell at any time so she works hard at what they want from her.
Love this kind of book because there is so much to it: romance/sex, mystery, high crime, locations, action and adventure, technology, tactics used.
Like that you hear from each of them so you can get the two sides of the circumstances.
Hilarious moments also and an excerpt Broken is enclosed.
Received this review copy from Kensington Books Zebra via Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.

I think I might have fallen asleep a few times, but then I woke and did not feel I had missed much, which in itself might actually be a bad thing. I guess it did not stand out.

Brighid is a hacker that is forced to work for this black ops team. But she is a good person and her hacking has been for good.

The team is a lot of oddballs that washed up together. I do like their quirks.

Raider is her handler, and big surprise, they will fall for each other when they go undercover. He washed up in this team since he slept with the wrong woman. Not his fault, she said she was single.

They are trying to take down a mafia guy. Brighid's dad used to work for him.

Shootouts, running, bad guys, drama, and a few humours moments. How these guys are still standing I do not know. This book really goes after them, they should all be in the hospital.

I did like it, but things progressed so fast. I wanted the take down off the baddie to be longer. He needed to be punished some more.

I liked the narrator. He made the guys sound gruff and since they really were that fitted well. I did feel he had nice women voices too
