Made me so sad they were apart for so long. The week he left she was got custody of her infant niece. He called drunk at a bar to talk to her. But she could hear a woman in the background asking him to buy her a drink. She acted like she was traveling the world having a blast but instead she was alone at home covered in spit up taking care of an infant. She then had to care for her mom with dementia before putting her in a home.

I learned about people who have adhd and the overwhelming emotions that come with it.

Lots of the classic romance tropes but not forced. Cute!

This gave me Hart Of Dixie vibes, so if you love shows like that, you’ll love this! ♥️

As the byline says, this is a sweet small-town romance, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The first in the Graham Brothers series, The Buy-In, focuses on Patrick (Pat) Graham & his attempt to win back the only love of his life, Lindy.
After Pat’s dad, Tank buys the little town of Sheet Cake, Texas. Pat bumps into Lindy, and as if no time has passed, old feelings come rushing back. Now Pat has the chance to prove to Lindy that he loves her and will do anything it takes to prove she is the only one for him.

Thrown into the mix, we have the adorably cute Jojo. She is technically Lindy’s niece, but in the absence of her real Mum, Lindy is Jojo’s mum.
However, Rachel (Jojo’s mum) is back in the picture and wants custody, so Lindy has no time for love, especially from the man who left and broke her heart, but is Pat a blessing in disguise?
Well, you’ll have to find out for yourself.

As you can imagine, mayhem, laughter, and plenty of adorable moments fill the pages of this gorgeous book. I cannot count the times I laughed or smiled because it was nearly a permanent fixture, and, of course, the cutie Jojo steals the show several times.

There are a couple of times I questioned if a 5-year-old would speak the way Jo did, and then there is a scene where Jo seemed to understand something that I thought was unlikely, but it’s hard to explain without adding a spoiler, but these are tiny things that didn’t stop me enjoying it.

I want to say a massive thank you to Emma St. Clair for the audiobook. I filled out an online form expressing my interest in receiving an audiobook and was successful.
I love closed-door romances, so happy to have found a new favourite author writing in this genre.

I really struggled to finish this. The characters didn’t have much chemistry and it was just kinda boring I guess

The Buy ln by Emma St Clair
I give this book 4 stars

When Pat’s father purchases the town of Sheet Cake, Pat suddenly has a clear purpose: get his brothers on board with his dad's wild idea and win back the one woman who got away.
Lindy is stuck in a small town, caring for her niece, she would do anything to keep custody of her, even if that means a marriage of convenience with the man who already broke her heart once.

This is such a sweet and wonderful rom com. There is plenty of humour, clean romance, fun, friends and family to enjoy. .But this story also has added depth with a custody battle, dementia and ADHD. It is well written storyline ,with a great bunch of
entertaining characters that have relatable flaws so that you immediately feel at home with them. I loved Pat, Lindy and Jo and this small town in Texas.
A perfect book to pick up if you’ve been reading something heavier.
With thanks to Netgalley and Emma St Clair for my chance to read and review this book

Oh my goodness, this book! I am blown away by how much I love every single word written, and how the town of Sheet Cake, and Lindy, Patrick and Jo have made their way into my heart.

This is my first book that I have read by Emma St Clair and I’m so excited to read The Bluff next up.

The Buy-In is the story of Pat Graham and his senior- year-of-college girlfriend, Lindy. They have not seen each other for a number of years, both living very different lives - Pat as a pro footballer, Lindy as a guardian to her 5 year old niece. They both find themselves thrown together again when Pat’s father Tank buys Lindy’s hometown - Sheet Cake. I laughed out loud at the town name and also at many of it’s quirky inhabitants and the town shenanigans. Emma St Clair can write a rom-com like a boss and I have so many highlights I don’t know which ones to share!

The Buy-In has:
-small-town romance at its best
-football
-squirrels
-The Princess Bride references
-marriage of convenience
-second chance romance
-ADHD character representation
AND
-so many laugh out loud moments!

This is a sweet romance, with the chemistry and attraction building throughout, these two have a history which lends itself well to their current day relationship and has you cheering for them right from their surprise (to Lindy) reunion. Plus you’ll fall in love with JoJo and her animal facts and curiosity, and the whole Graham clan. I’m still smiling now! I’m just catching up on reviews now and can’t wait to start The Bluff and head back to Sheet Cake with Winnie and grumpy James!

I received a copy of this book from the author and this is an honest review.
