Midnight at the Christmas Bookshop offers a lovely Christmas tale set in a cozy bookshop in Edinburgh. Jenny Colgan's books are always a win when I need something warm and light to read, and this book is no different. Even though this is the sequel to The Christmas Bookshop, it isn't necessary to read the first book in the series to understand this one. This was not a Christmas book
I still like the characters but I really feel like this book didn’t have any stakes or any plot. It was quite boring.

Very good. Full of festive cheer and warmth. The story starts with a few chapters on what the characters have been up to since the first book (The Christmas Bookshop) which is good as it felt like it was building up to the main Christmas story without it being rushed and was helpful in getting you back into the story of these characters and setting the scene for the main story.
