Just reread this after watching an Agatha Christie-themed episode of Doctor Who. Still didn't know who the murderer was until Hercule Poirot revealed it!
I find some of this series I am blown away by the end, this one however left me wanting more.
I absolutely loved this Poirot book! It kept me wondering all the way through, as it should, the characters were really well written and quite diverse, and the story line was really great. Like I mention quite often, I’ve got ADD and can’t finish books quickly, but I finished this one in a day or two, which shows you how much I got absorbed by the book.
If you want to start with detectives or Poirot, this is a great one to start with! Definitely one of my favourite Poirot’s thus far!

So clever!
More murderers/crimes than one would think.
I did get a little confused about who was whom, but not so badly that I lost track.
Loved that there were multiple explanations for all the little bits and pieces of the story as it came together.

A fast, easy read perfect for vacation. "Hickory Dickory Death" may not have all the twisty details that I have come to expect from Agatha Christie but it was an enjoyable story all the same. When M. Poirot investigates some stolen items from a hostel on Hickory St, he doesn't realize that he will soon be investigating murders as well.
It is also important to note that there are descriptions and comments in the book which would not be considered politically correct today. But if you keep in mind the time period when the book was written, you can easily read past them to enjoy the story.

Good, but ultimately a little forgettable compared to most Poirot novels.
