Even though this whole book (and series) is a gem, I forgot how much focus the unnecessary love triangle got in part one. As if Peeta (🥰) even has competition tsk. I mean: "My nightmares are usually about losing you. I’m okay once I realize you’re here." Excuse me??? Gale. Could. Never. Ngl Gale’s behavior will always give me secondhand embarrassment 💀 (yeah, at parts I feel bad for him, but he is just so annoying—sorry not sorry).

As soon as we get to the reaping and everything that follows IT GETS SO CRAZY GOOD. Especially the moment we get MORE Peeta, meet the other characters, and are back in the arena—that’s when Catching Fire really starts for me!! Katniss is still my all-time fav main character, Johanna is mother, and ofc let’s not forget the absolute best addition to this series: Finnick Freaking Odair✨

Ahhh, I love this series sm!! It’s just so fun honestly, no matter how many times I reread the books or rewatch the movies, I always feel pure nostalgia 😭 It has a special place in my heart 🩷
