I think the book has an amazing premise, but the pacing and dialogue were a little off and I think the author set up the killer in a too obvious way. Very close to the beginning we get hints that something bad is happening, but then there’s long drags of nothing happening. The dialogue is very clunky and hard to read at times and really takes you out of the story. The ending isn’t very satisfying and doesn’t end the novel in a rewarding way.  The hints at the identify of the killer were so obvious, I was able to guess who within the first fifth of the book, and normally obviousness in a novel is fine except when it’s a suspense novel. There was also a random subplot thrown in at the very end and then somewhat resolved within like 10 pages. Good things included a relatable main character, good storyline, and mountain climbing knowledge. Overall, it was just okay but had the potential to be way more.
