I think Daniel Silva is one of the great authors of the day. He style of writing is unlike any other. I enjoyed reading "The English Spy". Especially the last section, "Home".

Enjoyed this book as I usually enjoy Silva's books. Less art in here than in others which is a pity.
As my daughter recently pointed out, authors of series do a lot of cutting and pasting from previous books. For those of us committed readers of a series, that gets old fast.

The first four chapters, which set the stage, were well-written and interesting. The fifth and sixth, where the hero was introduced, were trite and bland. Didn’t finish the book. Life’s too short for this kind of drivel.

It was...okay. I wasn't expecting an award winning novel going into this, but I hoped for more than one-liners and thinly veiled drama. It's monotonous story with shallow characters.

One of my favorite Gabriel Allon books. Loved it!

I love this book.

Not my normal genre, but a happy departure! A fast paced, intelligently written spy thriller that continued to throw twists and turns at me the entire time. I really enjoyed the character development of two main 'good guys' which is something I sometimes find lacking in this genre generally. This book is part of a series of books about the main character, and I'll definitely be continuing with this author and series in the future.
