Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions works well for a fun, low-stress read. Perhaps it is the translation, but the structure of the author writing a story being told to him can get a bit confusing when it switches between the main plot and a one-on-one conversation with the narrator. Read if you like: older characters, spunky females, Italian settings, zany mysteries

I loved the humor and wit in this book. The setting and the characters were both interesting and kept me engaged in the story itself. The story was laid out well. I will read other books by this author.

DID NOT FINISH

Not for me
funny lighthearted mysterious

The plot of the book was perfectly fine, but the true stars of the book were the characters (particularly Poldi) and the setting. Poldi’s outrageousness was just on the edge of being too much, but for the most part she was believable and sympathetic.

The start to a fabulous and irreverent new series. Auntie Poldi will make you laugh.

I loved this book! It was a great summer read. Light hearted, lyrical, and pretty comical! Auntie Poldi is such a fun character. I enjoyed the irony of how the nephew masterfully narrates her story all the while struggling to write his own novel. Can’t wait to read the next Auntie Poldi adventure!

Phew! I'm exhausted just from trying to keep up with the convoluted story line. I kept thinking I was close to the end only to find there was yet another far-fetched twist.
