I really enjoyed this one! Different than anything I’ve read in a long time, so I loved that it was something new despite it being an older book. It was such an interesting concept, with children being the key to saving the world. The writing style was also very unique. Lots of dialogue and not a lot of “fluff” because the timeline felt like it was moving quick (the book covered several years). I loved the plot twists toward the end. The last chapter was not my favorite, though. I felt like it could’ve ended different, and I would’ve liked it more. Overall, glad I read it, but it took me a long time to read which I think knocked it down for me.

I just re-read this after many years and I feel like I've just come home! What a GREAT book! OSC is arguably one of the very best authors at creating a cohesive mileu and holding it together throughout the story. The writing level of Ender's Game is fairly simple (the story is told through the eyes of a 10-year-old boy) but the plot is compelling and relevant to older readers as well. I can't wait to finish this series!

FINALLY finished. It felt like it too me FOREVER to read the first 2/3 but then it finally picked up and that last 1/3 is the only reason this book received 3 instead of 2 stars. I just couldn't get behind the whole six-year-old or just children in general behaving like adults with 30+ years life experience. In many dystopian-type books I can see a little bit of a "this could actually happen" type deal, but I never felt that in Ender's Game. It felt completely unbelievable to me and therefore it made it incredibly hard for me to connect with and enjoy the majority of the book. I also had a really hard time visualizing the story, which gave me some problems and made it harder to hold my interest. I definitely want to see the movie, if only to visualize what I just read.

I loved this book, and the movie was pretty good too. Full of alien warfare, survival, games in space, and teenagers this book is a wonderful story about how hard it is to grow up...especially when alien bugs attack.
Violet is easily my most favorite character.
Peter is an a$$.
